Iced tea and an air of professionalism

Technology is absolutely frustrating! Great, I can tweet, post to facebook, and alert everyone I know that I just took my first breath of the morning all at once, but I can’t upload a simple goddamn video without everything freezing?? "It’s a lot of data, Laura," my dad says. Well then get some engineers on this shit and make it more manageable!

BLAH.

Of course this is no one’s fault but my own for trying to throw HD video around on a three year old laptop. Here’s a more fair question, though: why can’t we just have a universal plug for every electronic? Micro usb? Mini usb type A? Mini usb type B? Completely unnecessary. A six foot cable for $22 is also completely unnecessary.

However, a call to my dad did yield some helpful info. I mentioned getting an AM antenna for my stereo and he was like "just stick a wire in it." At first I was like, great, because I just have spare wire lying around. But it turns out that I DID. I made a necklace for my mom for christmas and had the wire still. I jammed it into the back of my stereo and voila! I can listen to progressive political talk in the mornings again!

So, I helped run a focus group today. That’s what the video is of. It was actually pretty cool! I would never want to run one again, let alone by myself, but the insights we got were awesome! It just gets me fired up in a way that is absolutely ridiculous.

Nice!! I’m glad it as so cheap and easy to make your own antenna. I’m all about being cheap. 😀
