NoJoMo 17 – The one that got away

Doing the challenge today, since I have a few mins for lunch.

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY:

I would have to say, the one that got away was called Evan.

It was 2002, I was working at the Whitehall Shell Gas station. There was this guy Evan who got hired one. He was cute, funny, and had a really great smile. He is from Broadview Hts, Like my mom & Aunt. We discovered this chatting up one night. Slowly over time he and I pretty much just chatted and joked around at work. This other girl diana that worked with us, saw "sparks" as it were in her words.

Her and I went to a Linkln Park Concert (My first concert) and afterwards we stopped up at work. Evan was working till midnight. So Diana asked him and I to come over and visit after he got off work. He was down, I was down.  Fast forward the night to the end, when it was 3am and Evan was driving me back home.  He and I talked a bit on the car ride home, and he pretty much gave me an opening, if i wanted to kiss him…., and I failed to do so.. I was distraught. I found out later that he did like me and had I just made SOME sorta move or signal or something, I would have probably been dating him.. instead i chickend out and ended up going home wishing i had.

To this day I still wonder about him. Sometimes I will see the same car he drove back then and wonder if its him.. Silly I know. But.. he was the one that got away 🙂
