Moomba doings and other bits and bobs
Sitting here with the fan on. It is 30 plus today and will be for the next few days. A bit of heatwave going on I’m afraid. The garden is so dry. My hydrangea and azaleas are looking very droopy. I will give them a drink after dinner.
I am cooking a lovely piece of Corn Beef for the kids to take with them over the long weekend. They are off camping on the Murray. First time Em has been away with her boyfriend on her own. So, it will be very interesting to see how it all goes.
Katie is going into the Moomba celebrations in the city with friends. Moomba is a big yearly celebration in Melbourne. Big Parade, Water ski-ing on the river, food, rides, fireworks, fun. Also the mad Birdman Rally. People launch themselves of a high platform endeavouring to scan the Yarra River. No one has ever made in the history of the event. It is incredibly funny to watch though.
It will be the first time she will going off on her own into the city. Amanda and I will sit at home with Buddy the Beagle biting our nails.
I took him to the vet today for his booster shots. He is in great nick. The vet was very pleased with him. However, one shot, a quick look at his teeth and I am $111. Poorer.
I then went over to Owen’s. He and I are singing ‘I remember it well’ in the new show. We have our first gig next Thursday. It is shaping up to being a great show. Once the gang get this one under their belts, they will breathe a big sigh of relief. Especially Margaret because her Mum will be there and has never seen her perform.
Moomba celebrations sound exciting. Would be nice to see a wee bit of your sunshine & heat over here in Scotland – snow is still hanging around although not causing any problems anymore. That was a big ‘ouch’ at the vet’s! Have a good day ~A~

Those photos look wild – do they have a real elephant on that float? I wonder how they get it to stay still?
@trunorth No it is not a real Elephant. But it was impressive.
