Feet up, coffee in hand

I am soooo glad to be home.  We had a gig as part of a big variety show today and I did the one thing I should never do.  Wore the wrong shoes.

I was cleaning out my shoe racks and noticed a pair of shoes at the back, I had forgotten I had.  Very pretty black ones.  Just the ones for today I thought. Put them on they were fine, very comfortable.

By the time I was ready to perform, they deliberately started squeezing my toes.  The show went for 2 hours and at the end my feet felt like they were in a vice.

Now I know why they were at the back of the cupboard.

We had great feedback from our audience.

In the first half the guys sing “When I’m 64″ and then we gals come on and sing Oob la Di  Oob la Da’; both songs of course are written  by The Beatles.

Owen and I sang our duet. ” I remember it well” from Gigi.  We were the last ones before interval.  Folks loved it.

After interval, we opened with our Fiddler on the Roof bracket.   The guys go on first singing “If I were a rich man”.  They are in black and wear the black hats and prayer shawls.  Then us gals come in peasant skirts and blouses with scarfs tied around our head and sing “Matchmaker” and then we finish with us all singing the beautiful “Sunrise Sunset.”  They crowd loved it.   I am so very proud of The Skylarkers.   We have such a great dynamic going on between us all.  It is the best it ever has been.

It has been raining a quite cold today, so Buddy, the Beagle, has been wrapped up most of the day.

He is very spoiled  but  very adorable.  He wraps himself up like that.

He goes around and around is circles until he gets his blankie just right.

I’m thinking maybe those shoes need to go to a donation bin…ouch!

Love the Buddy pics…beagles have always been one of my favourites…   🙂

Your performance sounds wonderful.  Wish you were close.  Know what you mean about shoes.  My feet are so picky about what I can wear.  The worse thing in the world is to have a pair of shoes you love the looks of but your feet can’t stand.

To be doing what you love to do is the best! And Buddy is a handsome dog.

sore feet in shoes that add to the problem can be miserable…sorry that spoiled the day.   When I was on the island we had a lot of live theatre as you know ( I was involved in it for several years) but quite recently they put on ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and it was a brilliant show.  Theatre going is something I need to start doing again perhaps….

Beagles are also one of my favourite breeds of dog….Buddy is adorable.   hugs p
