Dusty Springfield and the Gala
Glorious spring day is looming. It is quite cold in the mornings, but as the day warms up, it will become very warm. So, one starts off wrapped up with layers of clothes and by lunchtime you are hunting around for summer ones.
We actually took Buddy to the beach. I only have to end of the month to take him on the leash free part. It was beautiful down there. The bay was as flat as a pond. A deep blue colour reflecting the perfect blue sky.
He was so funny, he hasn’t been to beach for at least 6 months or so and when we arrived on the sand, he stopped for a brief second and then deliberately walked straight into the water, as if to say “It’s about time”.
He is presently tucked up into his blankets. A tight little ball waiting for it to warm up outside. He wont even get off the chair to go out and have a pee. Little devil that he is.
This afternoon I am going to a rehearsal for the New Year’s Eve gig. This is something I do not want to do but feel obligated for the sake of my concert group for PR reasons.
Tonight, I will be off to the Gala opening of “Dusty” a musical bi-op of Dusty Springfield. I have seen it before and it was very glamorous. However, I have been told that this version shows it as it really was, warts and all. She was a mess by the end of her life from Alcohol and Drugs. Such a shame. I think she tried to rehabilitate but it all just got too hard.
