– Lilacs –
If it wasnt the rain then it was the wind.
I was able to get the cherry blossoms pretty much at their prime. The lilacs are a little past theirs.
I have had to wait several days before attempting to photograph them. We have had some pretty good wind for about a week. There was too much movement of the bushes to photograph them.
There was a little wind today also but I think I lucked out.
We also had a visitor that stuck around a while.
Dont ask what kind it is as I didnt recognize it. There are 250 listed species of Bumble Bee.
Firmly believe that Mother Nature and Father Time are in cahoots
The Wife Unit has had cataracts for some time.. The eye doc had told her that t time would arrive when she would have to have surgery. Well the time arrived and the Wife Unit has had both eyes updated. She says that she is amazed by the improvement in her vision.
Then she pulled a fast one on me.
She made an appointment with the eye doc for me.
Guess who also will be having cataract surgery.
The eye doc was somewhat surprised to see me. He said he thought that I had died.
What the heck, its only been eight years.
I can almost smell the lilacs – which is surprising, since I haven’t actually been near lilacs since childhood.

Wow, that was a sensitive thing for a doctor to say. I would probably be a little offended, myself. But he probably meant it in good fun. 8 years is quite a bit to go between doctor visits. Your lilacs are lovely. i hope ours bloom soon. The bee, however, is terrifying. I have never seen that varieties hideous visage in SD.

I am very jealous of your lilacs. Gonna google to see if any will grow here. Yes, that bee looks more like a science experiment gone wrong. You will see so much better after the surgery. More blue, less yellow.

i have never seen a looker like that bumble bee. mostly you will live longer if you stay away from quacks..but getting cataracts removed is a good thing, just do insist on the kind that adjust to near and far vision so you will never have to wear glasses again..

Bravo. I spent all one day trying to capture a critter in my roses, but found few. That guy doesn’t look anything like our bees at all. You are going to love all the colors you see when your eyes are done.

be grateful for the bees. they are becoming fewer and fewer. esp honeybees here

Insects make me feel woozy. Thay bee does not look normal. I would probably have squished it.

Absolutely beautiful pictures! It would be such a shame if you were not able to enjoy them. So good to hear that your wife is seeing clearly now and soon…you will be too! Good luck with your surgery. 🙂
