– Goodbye Squash Patch –

The “Critters “ were active again on the nights since my last entry. The deer have been feeding on the leaves of the squash vines that they could reach over the fence. The fence is a little over three feet in height and they have been feeding by reaching over the fence.

Something, probably raccoons, has devoured three more of the Argonaut Squash

Last night we had a frost and the Wife-Unit decided that we should harvest all the squash.

The photos below show the total of the squash harvest.

Total weight of the Argonaut Squash in the first photo is one hundred seventy pounds. The Butternut Squash total ninety five pounds in the “Little Red Wagon”.

If we add in what we have consumed and the “DAMN CRITTERS “have destroyed we would have had over two hundred pounds of Argonaut Squash and probably a little over a hundred pounds of the Butternut variety.

I think we have enough squash to see us well into spring next year.

gorgeous butternuts……i need to get some, we’re craving them here

I hope you have a really big freezer! Dang! That is impressive!!

Beautiful crop of squash…or is it squashes? 🙂 Maybe next time you can plant the critters their own little garden to keep them out of yours? I see lots of squash dishes in your future. Yummy! 🙂
