Watching my Badgers

As I start this entry, it’s partway through the 3rd quarter of the Northern Illinois University-Wisconsin game 🙂 My badgers just scored their third touchdown and are about to kick the extra point.  I’ve been impressed with the new quarterback thus far. Of course, they are playing NIU so we’ll see.  Next week will be a better test for the new quarterback when they play Fresno State.  As I finish this entry now, my Badgers have won, though it was close there at the end. NIU put up a fight in the 4th quarter.  It looks like my badgers are going to be great at times and mind boggling at others.

I just finished reading 2 Nephi chapter 4.  It’s the chapter where Lehi dies and Nephi starts to get down.  It’s another of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon, as it shows clearly that even the Lord’s prophets get discouraged. But then Nephi remembers that if he continually puts his trust in the Lord, things will be fine.

So I am headed down to the family thing after church tomorrow.  It’ll make for a long day, but that’s alright. If the Labor Day thing for our street is also going on, we’ll also head out there for awhile.  Every year we have a street get-together in the cul-de-sac, but this year no one spent time outside talking so no one’s sure if we’re going to have it. We did talk to one of the neighbors today and they were going to do a straw poll of sorts among the other neighbors and if people were going to be around, they were going to drag out picnic tables and patio tables, etc and have the annual party.  In any case, it’s good to have a three day weekend.  So in any case, I’m headed down. It means I have to make sure I bring my little Sansa player as it’s got my current audiobook on it.  My iPod always goes with me to church these days, as it has my scriptures on it (have I mentioned lately that I love my iPod touch?)

I’ve been getting matches from eharmony in dribbles and drabs – nothing like that one week however.  No communication however.  I’m still trying to decide if I like any of them.  *Shrugs*  It’s in my prayers.  I’m amazed at this point that with this entry, I’ve managed five weeks of writing in a journal.  The thing I like most about writing in ldsjournal is that I can write about nothing at all and no one cares (at least now anyway – perhaps my future progeny will object :-P).  I feel so unencumbered while writing at ldsjournal.  And of course, at some point I’ll use the book builder feature and create an actual book of my entries.

I actually read that chapter a couple days ago. Excellent message. I have scriptures on my iPhone too, i don’t carry my Touch enough to actually bother syncing it anymore.
