Update on Clarine :)
"Life is measured not by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
Clarine was taken off the ventilator this week and is doing MUCH better. She’s been out of the PICU a few days now. My mom and I went over to the hospital after church and she seems to be doing quite well . She still has a feeding tube (the last thing left to get rid of. At one point, she had 2 needles, 3 tubes, 2 catheters and 5 monitors – of all that she has only one tube left). She’s off and on the oxygen – she was off it for most of yesterday but back on it last night. My mom and I were talking to Clarine’s mom at the hospital today and realized that unless something happens to you, you don’t realize all the service provided and needed by those in the hospital. The hospital they’re at is a Children’s Hospital and is so well done. Private rooms for each of the kids, and plenty of room for the families as well. The Ronald McDonald House ensures that there are sack lunches every day for the parents and several businesses have dinner brought in a few nights a week for the parents. There is some room for one of the parents in her room, but then there are also rooms in the hospital for the other parent to sleep and showers too. She’s gotten two blankets from the Linous (I dont think I spelled that right) Project. I know after this our ward will be that much more active in helping this hospital and others in the area because a member of the ward family experienced it.
Yay, glad she’s doing better. And oy, that was a lot of stuff connected to her. LDSjournal? Interesting.

Ryn: that makes sense. I’m half tempted to make one and post uncensored versions of what I post here there. One of the things that helps me keep writing in a journal is the fact that people actually read it, which is nice but can also be restricting.

RYN: that makes sense to me too. I may have to give it a shot.
