Transcripts
Tonight I took care of all the paperwork for my transcript requests. They’re now in the mailbox for tomorrow’s mail. They should be completely processed at LSAC sometime in early December. My mom remarked that I’m in a pretty good mood tonight. She thinks it’s because I feel good about the law school decision and getting things in order. She’s not wrong, but I think my good mood is also a spillover from yesterday, both at church and then the potluck/fireside at night. Even though I didn’t get home until after 9, I was glad to have gone. I don’t feel the need to attend University Ward at this point, but maybe I ought to attend more of the YSA activities when they pop up. So I did transcript stuff tonight, along with paying my tithing, doing two logic games, and doing a set of reading comprehension questions. I was debating picking up a study book for reading comprehension tips, tricks, and extra practice but I think I’m doing okay now. I was worried that I was having problems, but I think I’m doing okay, at least enough that I don’t need an additional book.
I realize tonight that truly I’m not doing much more than sleeping, working, and doing law school related stuff. I suppose though I should get used to that, as that will be law school – sleeping, class, and reading for homework. But I’m definitely feeling ready. Not much else really going on right at the moment. Actually, there was one other thing I wanted to mention – what is with people being rude to those who are trying to help them? I’ve mentioned before that I work for a student loan company that deals with both federal student loans and alternative student loans. I’m now in the call center doing outgoing calls – calling borrowers that are past due on their accounts. We call to see if they want to bring them up to date, or it they want to discuss some of their other options – and let me tell you there are many options if it’s a federal loan. There were lots of rude people today on the phone. I’m thinking, seriously. I’m calling to see if we can help you with the loan that for whatever reason you’re not paying off. We’re nice people if you sit down and talk to us. We’re pleasant and certainly don’t deserve the rudeness. But of course I don’t say any of it, but I’m seriously thinking it. So really – if someone from a call center calls you regarding an account you have, please at least be nice to them – chances are they deal with many many rude and nasty people over the course of the day. Someone being kind or glad that you were helpful can go a long way towards erasing the rudeness of the day.
"Life is measured not by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
Attending events is kind of an interesting thing. I’ve been trying to figure out what ones I’m supposed to be going to at all (i.e. youth stuff) since they’ll sometimes say something is for the youth or the youth and their parents, but nobody has told me before they’re pretty much just about to happen, so I’m never quite sure. At least with YSA you’re the target audience.

RYN: Given the current shake-ups with bishoprics, clerks, executive secretaries and such, there’s been a lot of information that could stand to get out better. I noticed this past month or so they’ve been getting better about it. The stake calendar is supposed to be out any day now, and hopefully the ward calendar will be figured out soon too. It sounds like they had the ward calendar almost ready, they are just waiting on the official stake calendar to double check the ward one before releasing it.
