The industrial revolution killed common sense

We’re getting walloped by a good sized winter storm – we’ve got about 4 inches on the ground with another 6 on the way today and high winds all day causing more problems – AND MY OFFICE IS STILL OPEN!  Seriously, there’s a reason they say travel is treacherous, dangerous, strongly discouraged, etc at the bottom of winter storm warnings.  I’m REALLY not comfortable driving in this nonsense – and it’s not like the evening rush hour is going to be any better – the winter storm warning goes through 6pm.  Plus, I have to drive a rural highway to get to work (and there’s no way around it!) and the drifting is worse in open rural areas.  I’ve decided I’m staying put.  I’m not going to risk any number of things for a paycheck – it’s just not worth it.
