Phantom of the Opera
There was a lady at church several years ago that decided I wasn’t going to be an alto anymore – she was going to help me extend my range and become a soprano. During that process, she introduced me to the wonders of the Phantom of the Opera musical. I’d read the story but had never heard the musical before. I heard it and fell in love with it. Saw the movie and loved it too. Since then (it was late winter – spring of 2003) I’ve wanted to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Yesterday I was listening to WGN Radio for a few minutes on my way home from my counseling appointment and heard an advertisement for The Phantom of the Opera. Yes-the Broadway production is now in Chicago as part of Broadway In Chicago 🙂 When I got home last night, I told my parents that I knew what I wanted for Christmas – I wanted to go see The Phantom of the Opera. lol my Dad asked how much good tickets would cost and I told him that I’d take crappy tickets – I just want to go! And my dad (and mom, who had come into the kitchen) said okay – you find the ticket info and that’ll be your main Christmas present and your mom’s ticket won’t count against you So provided the unexpected doesn’t happen, I’m going to go see The Phantom of the Opera 🙂
Oh recognice this, just how I feel about Scrooge – the christmas fairytale. Just love it so much, seen 6 or 7 different versions of it and I just looove it. Gingerbread cookies and Scrooge on TV, oh yes! CHRISTMAS IS COMMING. Hope everything goes as planned for you 🙂
