Logic Games

It’s already clear to me that the Logic Games section of the LSAT is what will give me the most trouble.  And so it’s the section I’m going to spend the most time on over the next weeks.  I’m going to pick up a logic games workbook tomorrow at Barnes&Noble to help me. My biggest problem seems to be diagramming them.  Once I successfully get them diagrammed, I seem to do okay.  I spent nearly two hours with my dad tonight going over some of the problems together from my LSAT study book and that seemed to help.  I can handle the sequencing games just fine, it’s some of the other varieties that I have problems with, especially the ones that combine types.  So I’m going to get a workbook so that I have lots and lots of examples to practice on, as it’s clear to me that logic games will be my weakness on the LSAT.  I’ll definitely be taking some of the practice tests between now and then but I’m not too worried about the logical reasoning section.  I also need to read through the stuff on reading comprehension and getting the strategies for going quickly.

My former boss is going to write me a letter of recommendation 🙂  Tomorrow I need to get her address so that I can get it printed off.  And then tomorrow’s Wednesday – Hurray for mid-week.  I’m trying to decide if I should take off the Friday before the LSAT, or maybe the Monday after it.  I have the time to take and I have a feeling I’m going to need the break but I haven’t decided yet.  I don’t think it will be a problem, but I need to decide and then talk to my boss.  I am taking almost two hours on the Monday of Thanksgiving week for my last dr appt with my ENT following surgery.  At that point, we’ll assess my breathing and how things are going and see where we go from there (if we need to do anything at all).

Not much else going on.  As a point of reference though, I thought I’d mention how many calls I got through today.  412.  Most of them are "This message is for___________" and then pressing the button on my screen for Play Msg and then getting the next call (that button plays the rest of the message for the person’s answering machine or voicemail).  But I do talk to 15-20 borrowers in day right now.  And then I do leave messages with actual people from time to time.  I seem to be doing okay thus far on my evals, which is good and I’m getting more comfortable with talking to borrowers.  I’m still not looking forward to incoming training (and we’re still not 100% sure when that will be – looks though like at the earliest it will be after the LSAT – or it could be the first week of February).  Either way, I’m going to do my darndest not to still be in the department come next Labor Day (by then I’ll either be in Law School or I’ll be somewhere else or actively looking for a job – if I don’t get into law school, I’ll be actively looking for a job the moment I know I didn’t get in anywhere I wanted).  So I spent my down time between calls reading the Ensign and that did seem to help.  The thing I’ve missed the most during my days on the phone was the spiritual nourishment I was able to get just by listening to the LDS music on my iPod (when I was in loan ops, we could listen to headphones but now obviously I can’t).  So reading the Ensign really helped me get through my day.  I’m reading November’s Ensign at the moment and I’ll continue reading it tomorrow.  If I finish it, I do also have May’s Ensign with me at work to read as well.
