It was a hot one!

That’s right – it was definitely hot outside today! We hit 91 on the thermometer today, which is more like July/August weather than it is May weather. And just a few weeks ago, we had temperatures more akin to November than typical May, so you just never know in this part of the country, especially in the spring.   The weather pretty much does what it wants when it wants. On the other side, we got home to find the a/c not working correctly.  After some fiddling, my parents got it working again, but they’re still going to have someone come out and take a look at it, just to be safe.   And then the other thing that wasn’t working right for awhile was the internet.  It seems to be working okay now, let’s just hope it stays that way. Initially, it looked like the earliest Charter could have someone come out (and us have someone home) would be next Tuesday.  That’s right – a week from tomorrow.  The earliest they could send someone at all wasn’t until Friday.  But then my dad did some more fiddling and now the internet is working again.  I was going to cry if I was going to be without internet this weekend when I’m on my own. Seriously, part of the fun is talking to people and doing whatever I want over the weekend.  In any case, things seem to be working now.  As far as the a/c goes, we just need it to work through Wednesday.  It’s going to be slightly cooler and less humid tomorrow and Wednesday, but we’ll be using the oven at night, which will necessitate the a/c.  But then on Thursday our temps drop into the 70’s during the day and 50’s at night so the a/c can be turned off for awhile.  The 70’s during the day and 50’s at night is more usual for May. 🙂

In other news, just eight more working days.  Right now I have two flat screen monitors at work but I’m about to lose one.  They want everyone to have at least one, and given that I’m quitting they’re taking one of mine early.  *Shrugs* it’s life but the later in my time that they take it the better.  I love having two monitors at work.  It was especially useful when I was in Loan Ops and then when I transferred to Borrower Services, I got to keep my second monitor and now I’ve been using it for almost seven months.

Not much else going on really.  I’m looking forward to my weekend on my own this coming weekend. My parents leave for Ithaca around noon on Thursday and then my mom gets home sometime around 8ish Monday night, with Stephen and my dad getting home several hours later (they’re staying behind to help Jason move apartments).  Thursday night I’m making beignets, Friday night I’m seeing Prince of Persia with Krystal. Saturday I’m catching up on Bones and Criminal Minds and then Sunday is church.  I haven’t decided what I’m doing with my Monday yet.  And then of course it’s back to work on Tuesday for my last four days of work 🙂  So yay – a total of 8 more days on the phones talking to people I don’t want to talk to.

Wow, I can’t believe it got so hot over there so soon! The weather here can’t make up it’s mind between Summer and Winter. Crazy!
