Duh

It occurred to me today why my sinuses are bothering me so much.  Our dewpoint went from comfortable to very uncomfortable literally overnight.  So my nasal passages are screaming at the lack of moisture in the air.   We went from dewpoints in the upper 50s to around 60 on Sunday to dewpoints in the low 40s on Monday (and dropping some still).  That’s a serious drop in moisture content in the air.  Most years we slowly go down – it still bothers me, but nothing like this.  So I’m not getting a cold – my sinuses are just reacting to the changing seasons.  I don’t have problems with winter to spring or spring to summer as we tend to add moisture to the air. And generally I don’t have a huge problem with fall to winter either. But that transition of summer to fall is really killing me this year.  I’m really REALLY hoping that adequate airflow through my nasal passages post-surgery will help cure this problem.

Of course, my other problem today was that my period arrived.  So I’m feeling rather crappy tonight.  Oh well.  Not much I can really do about it.  About time to head to bed.  I had to make sure I closed my window – frost advisory tonight and we’re into that time of year where we need the sun to heat the house up, otherwise it’ll be time to turn the heat on.

Seriously, I’m ready for a vacation from work – I need the break.  Things just feel….strange at work right now with everything in limbo the way it is.  Oh well.  I decided to purchase 10 eggs for the HR United Way thing – who knows what I’ll get in those eggs – maybe PTO, maybe gift certificates, who knows!  But it’s worth the $10, in my opinion.    *Sigh* nearly time to go to bed so that I can get up and start all over again.  At this point, if I can’t have the vacation, I’ll take the weekend.  This next weekend, we’re headed to IL on Saturday and then Sunday I get to stay home and watch Conference instead of going to the ward building.  Then the following Sunday is Ward Conference and I don’t need to prepare a lesson for that week.  Actually, the next lesson my class will have, my mom will be teaching.  Ward Conference is okay, though our Stake President likes to announce songs we’re going to sing on the spur of the moment.  I’m just hoping it’s nothing with a time signature I’m not fond of.  There are a few songs in the hymnal that I hate hate hate to conduct.  Most of them I LOVE to sing, but hate to conduct.  The problem with them is that I have to pay such attention to what I’m doing in terms of conducting that I don’t actually get to enjoy the song myself.  Come, Come Ye Saints comes to mind as one that I hate conducting but love to sing.  We’ll see.  And then I’m at home the following Sunday.  I’ll likely be feeling up to going to church, but I’d rather just not deal with trying to find a sub the day before if I’m not feeling up to it.  So I’ve got a sub for Sacrament meeting and a sub for Primary already (one of the Sisters in the ward is going to do Sacrament meeting and my mom’s going to teach my class – she told me she absolutely wouldn’t do Sacrament meeting :-P).

weather changes are interesting in their effects. Sometimes a weather change feels great, other times it just plain sucks.
