decisions, decisions
We didn’t go down to IL last weekend to see my grandparents since it was so bitterly cold (it’s generally not a good idea to make longer trips by car when it’s as cold as it was). So we haven’t been down in two weeks now. Earlier in the week, the plan was to head down tomorrow. As a result, I turned down an invite to a party downtown for tomorrow afternoon since I was sure I’d be in IL. And the friend was okay with that as she knows the whole story about my grandmother. But now, we might not be going. My mom’s tired and my dad’s tired (my dad didn’t get home til midnight last night and didnt get to sleep til 1 and didn’t sleep well at all), plus he’s got work to do this weekend as well. So it looks like my parents aren’t going to go down. Now my parents pointed out that I’m quite capable of driving myself down for a visit. The question is whether I want to drive the 90 minutes each way. So I need to decide what I want to do. Regardless, I’m sleeping in tomorrow. After getting up at 6:10am since Monday, I’m ready to sleep in. At least I don’t have to prepare a lesson for Sunday (for those of you new to my diary – I teach a class of 5 or 6 kids that are turning 11 this year at church each Sunday) as we’re having Stake Conference this weekend. It’s actually this last December’s stake conference. Again, if you’ve been following my diary for some time, you’re aware we’ve had a snowy winter. The first weekend in December was just the beginning and that was the weekend of Stake Conference. It got canceled and a few weeks ago they decided to reschedule it for this weekend.
Update on work: It’s been typical first week stuff. It’s strict data entry stuff and I can listen to my iPod while I work so I don’t mind it so much. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it either. It does have an outside shot of turning into a hire situation, which I would be okay with. As jobs go for the short term, it’ll do.
As a return to my whining over the weather – it would appear that we’re headed for a return of December weather – constant storms, some of which could pack a wallop. I like looking at what Henry Margusity (I doubt I spelled that right) over at http://www.accuweather.com has to say about the long term outlook. He’s got a blog over there, in addition to being one of the staff meteorologists over there. He’s figuring that someone in the next two or three weeks is going to get one heck of a blizzard – but whether that’s the northeast or the great lakes, it’s too early to tell. One thing he’s sure of is that with all the warm air and cold air running around, storms are a guarantee. And unfortunately, February tends to be a snowy month for us anyway, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change. *Sigh* Looks like we’re headed for an above average winter. *grr*
That sounds like a perfect job for me. I’ve been thinking about trying a go with a temp agency but I’ve been too chicken.

You might not be able to answer this, but if I were to do that, would I be able to find employment that would fit around my class schedules?

I was pretty sure that’d be the case. I would really feel betetr about life if I had any sort of money coming in but I’ll only be here in the state for 3 more months so getting a real job doesn’t make much sense. Thanks for the insider tips!!
