Back to Work (and pics!)
So it was back to work today after yesterday’s snow day. Unsurprisingly, the roads going to work today were not in the greatest shape. They usually aren’t for the first day or two after a big storm, especially if we’re too cold for salt to work. That was the case this morning, hence the reason it took me twice as long to get to work as it usually does. The drive home was better. I went back behind the airport on my way home, thinking that it couldn’t be any worse than the major road going to work had been in the morning. It wasn’t any worse, however when I got to the main highway, I discovered it was in much better shape than it had been this morning. That surprised me, given how cold we were and the limited options they had to clear it. But the highway was mostly clear on the way home. Chances are it’ll still be a little slick tomorrow, but much better than this morning. It’ll still be Saturday or Sunday before all the area roads are clear again and back to pre-Tuesday afternoon driving conditions.
Work today went well, and went by quickly. My days go by much faster when I spend much of the day on incoming calls, and that was the case today. We were on incoming until about 10:20, and then on dialer until about 11 when we got an email from our supervisor again telling us to switch back to incoming. Then we were on incoming until about 2:15, after which we were on dialer for the remainder of the day. Part of the reason the day goes by faster is that on incoming, there’s little down time while we’re on incoming. We’re only on incoming when it’s busy, so by definition, there’s little or no lag time between calls when we’re taking incoming calls. When we’re doing dialer calls, there’s serious lag time over the course of the day – enough time that I’m currently reading a book during our dialer time.
So I started filling out the common application information tonight for my law school applications. Right now, the only application that will be ready to go the evening of January 4th when I get my LSAT score is for Northern Illinois University (NIU). The others that I decide on will have their basic information filled out, but none of the specific essays written. That’s mostly because except for NIU, there’s no telling which schools I’ll actually be applying to until I get my LSAT score. There’s really no point of applying to some of my higher end schools if I don’t score nearly high enough on the LSAT (Cornell and BYU probably both apply as my higher end schools). In any case, I get my score three weeks from this coming Monday. I’m still not sure how I did, so mostly I’m just waiting that three and a half weeks for the score.
Below are some pictures of the snow. There are some pictures of me in there, one of my mom, some of the neighbors, a couple of my house, some of the trees we can see from our backyard and the snow on them, and some of the neighbor’s houses. Think we got enough snow yesterday?

Look at all the snow! It hasn’t snowed here yet.
