Back to Our Regularly Scheduled November
Come Thursday, we’re back to what November usually looks like around here. November’s usually pretty ugly around here. Mostly it’s been pretty warm around here for November, but that’s about to end. It sounds like we’re going to get some snow tomorrow night into Thursday. Won’t be much, but could definitely be our first accumulating snowfall of the season. And then apparently there’s another messy system for Sunday night/Monday morning. Messy systems are usually the usual for November and December, especially before the ground is really frozen and the cold air is entrenched. We usually end up with a fair amount of sleet this time of year. We’re not usually cold enough and the ground frozen enough for serious accumulating snows for another few weeks yet. Anyway, some poor souls in the area could see 3-4 inches of slushy snow through mid-day Thursday. They’re not real sure yet where that will happen, but they seem to think it will. Usually by now I’ve had to put my winter jacket back together. I have a Columbia jacket with an inside fleece and an outside windbreaker that wonderfully come apart (and are meant to). So every Spring I take it apart and every fall I put it back together. It makes for a very very warm winter coat, something I’m very grateful for come January and February. If you’ve ever experienced an upper Midwest/western great lakes winter, you know exactly what I mean. Anyway, it’s yet to be cold enough to warrant putting my coat back together, since once I put it back together, I leave it together until spring. But our high on Thanksgiving is just 37 and we’re likely making a trip to Illinois on Thursday as well. Looks like next week won’t be much better either, so it’s definitely time to put it back together.
In other news, two of my transcripts have been processed into my LSAC file. Of course, the most important of the bunch – the one from my degree granting institution, has yet to be received. If it’s not there by early next week, I’ll give the university a call just to make sure it went out and that it went to the right address with the right form. I definitely want everything ready to go once the LSAT’s over, so that I can just do all the application stuff and then be able to just send out everything when I get my LSAT score. I can’t submit anything until LSAC receives the Letter of Recommendation from my former boss (as all my law schools require at least two letters of recommendation. One of the ways I can tell that I really want this is that I’m being so good about keeping up on my account, etc and that I’m finding it so easy to remember to do so.
Right now I’m watching the Gonzaga-Wisconsin basketball game on ESPN. It’s being played in Maui and winter goes on to the tournament championship game tomorrow. I’ve decided to stay up and watch the whole thing, even though it’ll end after I usually head to bed. To compensate, I’m going to get up somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes later than I usually do. The game shouldn’t be over any later than about 10:30, but if it is, I’ll tivo the rest as I’m heading up to bed at 10:30 regardless of whether the game’s over or not.
Tomorrow *should* go fast at work – I’ve got training for a large chunk of the morning and then playing with some dummy accounts with regards to the things I’ll learn in training. And then I’ll spend at least part of the day on incoming calls. At this point, I’m used to talking to borrowers and that doesn’t bother me. So I’m only on the phones tomorrow for probably 5 hours. And then it’s time for the four day weekend 🙂

It’s barely gotten cold enough to wear my field jacket regularly, I’m still not convinced I’ll need the liner this year. I’d like to have it get to where I needed it though, I enjoy winter on the rare occasions when we get it.
