A Little Earlier Than Usual

Tonight’s entry is a little earlier than usual as I’m feeling under the weather.  It feels like I’m getting the cold my mom’s got, which definitely has me annoyed.  But I picked up some cold medicine stuff at Walmart just in case. I decided instead of heading over to the mall and making multiple stops, I’d do all my shopping at Walmart and take care of my cold needs as well as picking up Stephen’s Christmas present.  I also now have an idea for my Dad’s Christmas present, I just need to pick it up at Best Buy this week/weekend.  Anyway, definitely feels like I’m getting a cold.  But today I had an additional 30 minutes off the phones (I love when we get time off the phones!) and then we’ll have more time tomorrow off the phones along with Thursday as well.  And then next week, we get both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as paid holidays, and then the following week we get New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day as paid holidays as well.  So just the rest of this week and then short weeks the following two weeks. If I am getting a cold, it’ll likely mean no Illinois for me this weekend.  We’d been planning to go down on Saturday, but if I’ve got a cold then it’ll just be my parents going down.  That’s too bad, but I’m sure I’ll go down while my brothers are home.  They get home late Sunday night and are home until January 20th I believe. Right now the plan is for them to drive themselves to the airport that day in the truck, and then leave the truck at the airport for our parents to drive back home on the 25th (my parents are in Hawaii from January 14th-25th). Having them home and having the car situation work out that way means I don’t have to take any time off to take people to the airport.

Sometime in early January, I plan to order some Beignet mix from Cafe du Monde to have while everyone’s gone (that way, no one gives me crap for loving them, and no one can steal them :-P).  I love love love Beignets – so yummy.  If anyone’s interested, the website to order the mix is http://www.cafedumonde.com – it’s in New Orleans and they’re actually a french doughnut.  They’re fairly easy to make at home with that mix.  I’ve tried some recipes from scratch, but they just don’t cut it. One day I’d love to visit New Orleans and have beignets at Cafe du Monde.  Again…one day.
