6:45

Got the call at home today from the hospital while I was at work.  Gotta report to the hospital at 6:45 Wednesday morning for my surgery.  Surgery’s at 8:45.  Nothing to eat or drink after midnight tomorrow night and Igotta make sure not to use the restroom before I get to the hospital Wednesday morning.  Apparently they do a urine test for pregnancy as standard operating procedure (no pun intended).  At least it’s early in the day. I’ll simply go to bed on time, get up about 5:30ish, write a quick journal entry, and then we’ll leave at 6ish.  The hospital isn’t that far, but we ought to get there a little early.

For among other reasons, I’m grateful to have the three days off as we’re quickly running out of work in my department.  Of course, in another few weeks I’ll be transitioned into the new phone team for borrower services.    But right now the big thing going on is surgery. With it being the day after tomorrow, I can’t help but think how fast time moves.  10 weeks from Friday is Christmas – now that’s hard to believe!  I can’t believe how fast the year’s gone.  I always wonder where the time goes.

I have a few things to pick up from the store tomorrow after work in preparation for not wanting to go out til at least late Thursday or sometime on Friday (maybe longer).  Gotta make myself a list so that I don’t forget anything.  I also need to be sure I make the jello tomorrow night (it’s so that I can easily get something to eat when I get home so I can take whatever pain medication they give me.  For me, empty stomach + prescription pain killer = very very nauseous.  Really, I don’t need the jello much past that first few hours I’m home, but for that first dose of pain meds – gotta have something easy to eat.  So orange jello it is.  I’m also going to take my shower tomorrow night, as opposed to Wednesday morning – mostly so that it’s a little more sleep I can get…

Not much else to talk about really. . .

I know I’ve said this already but I hope everything goes smoothly.

Good luck with the surgery and I will keep you in my prayers.

Ohh, you made the jello! That’s a really good idea to pre-make it before the surgery so you know you have something to take the medication. Definitely not good on an empty stomach.
