Sweet
First date…
Our one telephone conversation was very easy, he seemed pretty easy going. We decided on an early dinner the next night. He lives about 20 minutes Northwest of me in a smallish town, although he works in my town. I’m not super excited about his living location. I am more of a city girl, not a small town girl. We will probably end up hanging out here, and earlier rather than later because it would be silly for him to go home, then come back. He doesn’t have friends that live in Roswell, so what would he do if we meet at say…7 or 8. He would have 2 or 3 hours to kill. I shouldn’t worry about it…
Anyhow, we met at this great Thai restaurant at 6. Conversation was still easy. We talked about our jobs, our families, our homes. Nothing of note happened, he seems to be a pretty normal guy. Anytime I said something he responded with…"Sweet." It was kinda funny. A bit monotonous after a while, but it never got super annoying. After an hour or so the conversation wound down and we talked about a second date. Maybe trivia or something, mix it up.
We’ve been texting back and forth all week and have a second date set up for Sunday.
My hangup…because I always have a hangup…he’s pretty short. 5’7. I know that’s not tiny or anything, but it’s something. (I’ve dated all heights, but if I had a choice I would opt for taller rather than shorter) My friends have already gotten onto me about it, and I’m over it. If we get along then it doesn’t matter. I don’t know why I always find something to pick at, but I do.
LOL, you sound like me! His too short, too tall, bald, his this and that, on and on it goes. Insane isn’t it? I’ve concluded that none of those things matter so much anymore, as long as there is some chemistry that can be built upon and the interest is mutual (see where things go) Hell, why not? No one is perfect after all. As you know, sometimes, the thrill, excitement of him comes later. G~

I’m of the opinion that finding something to pick on about a date is usually your subconscious saying “Um, no.”

I predict that you fall in love with him.
