Log #1414

Twenty-two thirty-four.

It’s Ruby. On the network. She ‘hacked’ me. The word processor opened up and a smiley icon came up on screen, followed by a message: “I’m watching you”.

I knew it was Ruby straight away. I typed as much, and she wasn’t very impressed.

She’s got a theory about Stella. Something about

not ‘something about’ you idiot. She IS a scientist from Elk Station in Alaska. They are working in conjunction with a private Swiss company to manufacture a

Sorry. That was Ruby. I’ve disconnected from the network now–will not put up with her watching me write.

She’s completely thrown me off my rhythm now.

She said she wants me to distract everyone so that she can sneak in tomorrow and have a route around the control room, “through Stella’s things”. I told her that Stella doesn’t have any things here. She turned up on the train with a bunch of others. And they had no things.

Ruby’s convinced there is something though. And maybe there is something, but it’s more likely to be in the things that Pen and Sergio left behind than in Stella’s belongings.

I told her if she wants to break in to the control room she’s going to have to sneak in by herself, because I’ll not be doing her any favours. After all, anything I do to make it easier for her to get in makes it easier for Infected to get in. And I don’t think I trust Ruby that much.

So, she’s going to break in at three thirty, when we’re having our daily meeting. I’ve told her I’ll try to keep the meeting going on for as long as possible. I know I can get both Stella and Wendel frustrated, which will keep them talking.

So, we’ll see how that goes… For now I should get some sleep, I guess. Twenty-three o’seven.

Next log shortly.
