Work For It
I figured it out.
In one swift epiphany, after a dramatic and tear-filled weekend fighting my lover, it dawned on me:
I feel like I need to EARN his love.
How fucked up is that?

Unlike respect, I don’t feel that love is something to be earned. I feel that love is something you give, freely, and you give yourself with it. This is why it’s important to have the self-esteem to feel that you have something worthy to bring to the table, so to speak. And then there’s the question of how do you earn it? I honestly think “how do I earn his love?” is just a rephrasingof “how do I make him love me?” It’s like the saying I wish I could take credit for: “It’s not up to me anymore. If you want me in your life, you’ll find a way to put me there.” How fucked up is it? Don’t beat yourself up, you’re more insightful than most ever will be. But nothing has ever been as hard as love. #loveowowow
