Survey Strikes Again! (Yeah, Right Edit)

Have you ever been to an art museum?
The Getty Center in LA, and The Louvre in Paris. Nothing close to home, though.

What’s most stressful right now?
What isn’t?

Have you ever walked in on people having sex?
No, I haven’t.

Did you get a full 8 hours of sleep last night?
No. I woke up a few times during the night which is bizarre for me. At one point I thought it was way past time to get up and I sat up and started getting out of bed and looked at the clock and it was 2:30am. Not good times.

How old do people usually guess you are?
18. 21 if I’m lucky.

If you could move somewhere else, would you?
Yeah, I probably would. Depends on the location of this elusive somewhere else, though. Rural Texas? Probably not. Paris? Fo sho.

Would you rather your lover have gorgeous eyes or a gorgeous smile?
Gorgeous smile, if it’s one or the other. Usually they go hand in hand, though. Maybe I’m just lucky that way.

How long have you and your number 2 known each other?
This is a MySpace question and I honestly don’t even know who my number 2 is on MySpace and I’m not going to look just to answer a question for a survey that’s supposed to be fun and entertaining and whiling away the rest of my lunch hour.

Are you texting anybody?
Not currently because I left my phone at home this morning. It hasn’t gotten much use in the past week so I’m not entirely surprised that I left it behind, but I do distinctly remember looking at it when I got out of the shower this morning so I am surprised that my memory didn’t span the twenty minutes between then and when I left. Without it.

How many people do you have ‘a thing’ for right now?
Just one.

Where is the person you need most right now?
Probably in his car.

Who was the last person in your bedroom?
Me. Before that Kyle. Like weeks ago.

Do you think you will be in a relationship three months from now?
Yes, I hope so.

What’s on your bedroom floor right now?
A bunch of junk. My computer box, some shoes that need to be put away, clothes that need to be laundered, some papers and boxes and things.

Has a boy put their arm around you in the past five days?
Nope. No one has.

Are you talking to someone while doing this?
No. Though there are people talking in my vicinity.

Do you care if people hate you for no reason?
If I know about it, yes, it bothers me. It bothers me if anyone hates for no reason whatsoever. What’s with all the hate, people?!

Do you tend to make things complicated?
I don’t think I do, but I could be wrong. I try to avoid complication and drama. Sometimes I fail miserably.

How do you feel right now?
Apprehensive.

Did you kiss or hug anyone today?
No, but I suppose there’s potential for that later tonight.

Would you like to put last night on repeat, and live it forever?
Good God, no.

WhatÂ’s the greatest thing that happened to you today?
I got two postcrossing postcards in the mail. They were pretty awesome.

Yeah, Right Edit

So I’ve gotten a few responses in regards to my Craigslist post looking for a room. I was really hopeful for one that’s just a few blocks from where I live now. In her initial email she said she was flexible with the rent. I reiterated my budget (which was right in the damn post headline) and she comes back with, “Well I’ll need first and last month’s rent and a deposit. I was really looking more for $450 for rent, too.” First of all, if you’re looking for $450 (which I could probably manage, I just don’t want to), then don’t email someone who clearly states that they’re looking for rent that is less than that! Secondly, rent for the first and last month AND a deposit up front? Who does that anyway? Either ask for the first and last month’s rent, or a deposit. Or even the last month and a deposit, fine. But all three? Fuck you lady.

My other leads have been just as fruitful. There’s a couple that has a house in Longmont that they’re renting out. The basement has been rented to a male grad student already, so they want to rent out the upstairs which is like three rooms and two bathrooms for $600. Not a bad deal, but I can’t afford $600/month for rent. Also I’m not entirely sure I want to move back up to Longmont for various reasons.

So I’ll just continue looking. Though I think I’m in denial or something because I haven’t made a very concerted effort with it. Go figure.

I hope you get that kiss and hug tonight.

What is with all these OD surveys originating in MySpace? Hope you’re feeling better.

November 3, 2008

I could use a kiss and hug too.

I imagine the old adage “you’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs before finding a price” applies here. 🙂

I hope your apartment search pans out! I am slightly afraid of craigslist. 😛

RYN: And believe me, it takes money to make me look snazzy! A natural beauty I am not. 🙂 I’ll post a picture when I get around to it.

RYN2: I guess I should have looked at the side of the box? 🙂 Thanks!

Man, I’ve never had to pay more than a deposit, which is 1/2 of rent. Not sure they can legally ask for more than that here, though sometimes they might have a optional pet deposit or something.

RYN: Well that is because what happens in the US has a huge impact on the rest of the world.

ryn: Kirk’s teaches the online college courses in Physics, Math, and Stats at a local college. :o) Sweet job, no?~jo

In my experience first last and a deposit is a common expectation. Generally moving requires a savings of three months’ worth of rent. Sucky, but true. I hope you find something good soon.

ryn: I’m not sure at this point. I think it might be. I might get 60,000 words out of it if I’m lucky.
