ye gods forever ago*

I know I’ve not written in a long time, for those who care I am sorry if I worried anyone. Life has been going well at home, I just haven’t been in a good head space for writing. I am trying to get myself into that better place, because writing is therapeutic as many of us know here.

On a work front, I have hit the six month mark at Sanrio, which given my not-so-great job history is an excellent mark. I’ve only had one job in my life where I made it to a year, which is my next goal. I’ve been covering some shifts at our Pioneer Place store in addition to my home store at Washington Square, because April 30th was their store manager’s last day. Yes I am going for the store manager job downtown, but I have a back-up plan if I do not get management.

My pets are all doing well, I am thrilled that the weather is nice enough that I can toss the dog outside with food and water for the day, as he’s a lovey boy, but it’s nice not having him crawl on me all the time. The cats are all doing well, I still have the territory issues with Small beast. He has a few select spots that he uses instead of the catbox (no he’s not suffering from a UTI, he’s just a stubborn bastard).

Things are going well with my roommate Katrina, she’s got a follow-up interview today for a pharmacy technician job (she’d be the person at the pharmacy counter who hands you your meds) so I’m praying for her that she gets it. It’s what she went to school for, her current job sucks, and she does owe us back rent (although least important honestly).

Financially we’re getting all of the little credit cards paid off one by one which is fantastic. We’re keeping our heads above water, food on the table, a roof over our heads, utilities on, and we’re even able to budget in for one or two small meal outings a month. Yes, paying things off are important, but so is keeping our sanity.

Andrew is FINALLY getting management to listen to what he and others have to say about working conditions at his job right now. He was told at his 9 months overdue employee review from LAST year that if he had any concerns, to feel free to contact the building administrator. He did that a couple weeks ago, and the very next day he’d hired a part-time floater CNA for evening shift (JezzyBelle, I think you understand how hellish things can be when you need proper staffing yet management is bitching about hours).

Things are finally evening out emotionally for Andrew in regards to the situation of losing a friend (hopefully temporarily, there’s some hope that she’ll sit down like an adult and talk to him about what happened), which means things are evening out for us. He was incredibly close with her, which I don’t begrudge him in the least. As some of you may know (my long-time readers) Andrew and I have an open relationship, so even if things had turned more romantic between them I wouldn’t have minded.

Jesse is having roommate issues, in that we’re ALL ready to kill his roommate Timber’s girlfriend. She moved up from Louisiana to be with him, but is unwilling (possibly unable) to learn the cultural differences between the deep South and life in the Pacific Northwest. She also has no respect for common courtesy, and is FINALLY starting to learn that a bit. She’s a good person, but needs to learn basic rules of life. Hopefully we can all hold onto our sanity until then.

On a religious basis, I for the first time in my life, feel completely settled in my beliefs, even though most might not agree with me and some might even tell me I’m going to hell for being a little heathen. I don’t care. What is right for one is not right for all.

Last but not least, there’s a small hope that I might be able to get into a schooling program that will get me actually trained as a certified veterinary technician. I saw an ad on the MAX train for a school that looks to be a tech school, so if I don’t get management I’m going to look more into it and see what happens.

All in all, life is better at the moment.
