Woe is Mexico…

So my pet sitter canceled on me. We were supposed to meet tomorrow, and we secured her before booking our trip.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck ,Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.

I emailed two others. One is new to town, and on Kijiji. They just started here 2 weeks ago and I’m hoping she’s looking for work, and is available. 

I’m not going to lie, I’m freaking out a bit. I was cleaning up, prepping for tomorrow’s meet with her. When my phone dings and its her, 

"I fell yesterday, and I don’t think I’ll be able to watch your dog. I’m worried I won’t be in good enough shape to look in on the ones I already have".

Fine.

So I sent her a pleasant email back. Sorry to hear, I hope you feel better soon, would you happen to know anyone else in the business or be able to recommend someone else?"

"Unfortunately, no. Have a good day!"

I’ve had reservations about this woman. But her name is all over this city, and it seems like she’s seasoned in this business. But I kept getting a vibe that she was really disorganized, and I’m not sure I buy her story.

How are you pet sitting for as many years as you are in a small city, and you can’t think of anyone else that is in this business? In the event that you can’t work you wouldn’t have a back up recommendation for your clients?If my vetran Pet Sitter left me high and dry like that, you’d better believe she’d never get paid to watch my dog ever again.

This whole job is about reliability. Being reliable to come to my house and watch my dog. IF you can’t, you should have someone back up who can.

But I guess it’s ok to fuck me, since you don’t know me? She’s made excuses about having to switch dates and her availability for just meeting CoCo before hand. 

Anyhow, I told the other two I found online that I’m looking for someone to whom I can give continuous business to.  Not just a one time deal.
