I got the best text of my life today! 

Dave texted me to say Julianne is here, she was born at 6pm, and that Amanda did such a great job! I told him, I had no doubt she did and that I was so excited for them.  

Then.. He sent a text that simply read, "she’s beautiful‘ , and my hand to god, my heart melted and I actually teared up! Who am I becoming?!!

September feels so far away, I can’t wait to see them!

I wanted to send Amanda flowers, but I got to thinking, flowers are a hassle, they die and everyone and their mom will send flowers!

So, maybe I should send her a Princess Cut Peridot, a loose stone that she can make into whatever she’d like whenever she’s ready. But, Peridot is not an easy stone to find! So the search continues! Maybe I’ll peruse chapters.ca instead and send her a little something until I can find a Peridot!

Right after I posted this, I had the best idea in the history of my ideas…

So I ordered her a wallet from Kate Spade.
I know she’s going to be getting lots of Mom-related gifts (all of her friends are already moms, so I’ll let them buy the mom stuff, stuff I didnt even know exists!), flowers, and baby stuffl.

In all of the years we’ve been friends, Amanda has never splurged on herself. She likes nice, designer things, but she wouldn’t spend money on herself. I know she feels like even if she likes it, she doesn’t NEED it.  Now that she’s a mom, she will definitely be putting all of Julianne’s wants and needs way above her own, and I want her to have something thats ridiculous, and amazing, that she’ll love and wouldn’t buy herself! I thought about getting her an MK Bag, but my husbear would freak, and I know she wouldn’t accept anything too expensive. I also didnt want to get her something too fancy, I wanted her to be able to use it everyday, you know pull out that little piece of fabulous from her bag, to remind her what a cool mom she is 😉

So I ordered it and sent it right to her, with a card that reads:

" Here is a little something for the mom, who made the world’s cutest baby! I thought about sending you flowers, but this seemed like a much better idea! xo Isha"

Plus this is a "Congrats you’re a mom!" gift, a "a way to go pushing out that little people!" present,  and the peridot she would make into something for Julianne, I know she would, so I’ll get Jules one for Christmas instead 🙂 Maybe I’ll get Amanda a match in her own Birthstone.

This girl is my sister, plain and simple. I love her to death, and I can count one hand how many people I love this much.

Sam thinks this is a weird thing I do (when his cousins had babies, I insisted on getting the girls flowers when we went to see them. The Babies were already old enough that the stream of flowers and cards was over, but he said, we’re going to see the baby… I was like what about the woman who pushed it out of her Va-jay-jay?! I think she deserves a little something. 

but honestly we’ve been showering them with gifts for Julianne for MONTHS, and Amanda did all the hard work, whats a little gift for the woman who MADE A LIFE? Spent nine months growing it, and than pushing it out of her PERSON? This day to me, is as much about Amanda, for sure. Julianne get’s all of the August 7ths from now on, this one she can share 🙂

I’m going to probably pick up some golf stuff for Dave, balls/tees etc when I go up. I don’t want him to feel left out, just seems like a weird thing to have shipped! I don’t know much about golf, so I’d rather do that in store!

This is one of the best days ever, even though we’re so far apart… I’m just brimming with joy! 

And, Thanks DM for getting the site up so I could record this moment, I know this is an entry that will always make me smile, when I’m sifting through these!
