Thera part 3

“Thera,” Aryun’s voice became gentle as she tipped his face further up so that she could see his eyes. “As your father once told me, feel, don’t think. You will end up better off in the long run.”

He nodded slightly, ducking his head in embaressment as he stepped away, slipping a pale blue shirt of soft silk over his head. After flipping his long hair from underneath the shirt, he struck a pose, offering his left arm to his mother and giving her a shy smile. “Did you not say that you had a meeting to attend to?”

“Yes I did. Thank you, yasashii.” She gently took his offered arm into both hands as he led her way down to the lower council chamber.

Everyone stopped what they were doing to gaze upon the Regent’s son, and what a striking figure he made as he stepped with his mother down the halls. Silver and gold contrasted as well as harmonized as they moved.

Once they reached the large bronze doors, Thera let go of his mother’s arm with a soft smile. “We have arrived at thy destination lady.”

Aryun smiled and reached up on her tiptoes to gently kiss his cheek. “Go catch that elf girl before I get angry at you and rope her in myself.”

Thera blushed, but his eyes sparkled gently before he replied, “No, okaasama. She shan’t get away so easily.” With that, he gave her a small little salute before walking away down the hall.

Before he could completely exit the hallway, Aryun called to him.

“Oi! Thera! Whatever you do, do not ask love advice from Tyral. You’ll regret it!”

Smooth silver laughter greeted her ears. “From what I’ve seen between ojiisan and obaasan, I would not wish for any relationship of mine to end in shield-to-head romantics.”
