The Ring 2

My Mood:   — Just Watched The Incredibles

Anyway, I also saw The Ring 2.  I really did intend on cleaning my room, but obviously that didn’t happen.  I don’t really know when the idea came to my head.  I suppose after Denny called.  He wanted to talk to Mike but Mike was dead tired after coming home from work, (six in the morning till about eleven,) and was asleep.  Well, I decided to take a showe, get my last paycheck from the dollar store, and figured I’d go to Denny’s and ask if he wanted to come with me.  When I went there, turns out that Freshman Mike was there, too, so I asked both of them, saying that I was a chicken and didn’t want to go alone.  But Freshman Mike had no money, so that sucked.  We played Meelee for a bit, I beat two of the adventure settings for Denny.  Then I decided to go anyway, cuz I still wanted to see the movie.

I got there, and it turned out I made it at the perfect time.  The next showing was for about twenty minutes after I got there.  So I got my ticket, got nachos and a drink, and found my way to where it was playing.  During the advertisments I almost psyched myself out and left, but I kept telling myself that I could sit through it, it was no big deal, etc.  Yeah, I really am a chicken at heart.  A chicken who can’t turn away from movies like that.  ::Sighs::

It started, I made it through the whole thing, and I thought it was really good.  It definitely differs from the manga, but so does the original.  I thought it was a good continuation, though.  And, surprising for a Japanese-based horror film, it had a definite conclusion this time.  Or so it seems.

I also saw an ad for another movie, based on Japanese whatever, called Dark Water,  It looks really good.  I want to see that one when it comes out.  And Tim Burton is making a new film, sort of in the style of Nightmare Before Christmas.  You know, same kind of puppetry style and all.  It’s called Corpse Bride and I beieve, fittingly, it’s coming to theaters in October.

So I came home and found out Mike was awake.  We played Meelee for a bit and apparently I was in rare form.  Three games and I kicked his butt in all three.  Seven lives and each time, I got seven kills on him.  We quit playing after that, had some dinner, and then I was craving cheesy bread.  I went to Domino’s and got some, (free.  How awesome is that?) brought it back, and Mike and I watched the Incredibles while eating the cheesy bread and the Kickers I brought back for him to try.

That was a pretty good movie, but Dolly was right.  Disney/Pixar has gotten a lot darker.  Or at least they were in that film.  They were both good movies, though.  I recommend both.
