Rounding the Bases

Lol.  This has a private joke behind it that I can’t divulge.  I promised I wouldn’t.  But, long story short, it floored me.  I was laughing so hard, I literally fell against the sink, and collapsed on the ground in helpless gales of giggles.  For anyone who knows me, getting me to laugh is an easy feat.  Getting me to laugh that hard, on the other hand . . .  Not many people have managed that one.

I don’t quite know what to write.  I’m trying in vain to come up with an idea for a screenplay.  Or maybe just a play.  It’s going to center around that thunderstorm song that Jason played for me last night.  I love that song.  And he wrote it himself.  That’s the most impressive thing about it, I think.

I’m not gonna be able to see him tomorrow, like I’d hoped.  Turns out, he is going home.  Oh, well.  I can see him on Tuesday.  But I was looking forward to tomorrow.  I was gonna bring my pastels, and sketch book, and we could sit outside and draw, and talk, and all that.

You know, I realized something.  It’s nice, having a guy who is honestly just your best friend.  More and more, I agree with that “Goodnight, Gracie” book.  Morgan and Jimmy were best friends, and they could throw their arms around the other, they could lean against the other’s shoulder, get hugs from each other, whatever.  And it was in friendship, just because that’s how close they were.  I love that concept.  Because in a lot of ways, guy and girl best friends are closer than boyfriends and girlfriends.  I honestly do think that someone like Jason or Ryan is too close to me for me to ever get together with.  But that’s okay, because we’re still close.

Yeah, I know it sounds like I’m in love with Jason, or can sound like I’m in love with Ryan, or this person, or that person, depending on how heavily or how much I talk about them.  I don’t know.  Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t, but I find I don’t really know how to talk about a guy I love without sounding . . .  in love.  Weird, huh?

Well, I guess as I leave off on this entry, I have a simple question.  The entry title relates to when Jason and I were talking yesterday and for some reason, we got to discussing what we considered “the bases” to be, as far as romance/sex/love/whatever goes.  What does anyone else think they are?  Because I know there isn’t a universal thing.  I’ve heard mild versions of them, you know, first being hugging, second being kissing, third being . . .  I don’t know.  And then I’ve heard the more sick versions.  You know, first being fondling, and I don;t even want to remember what second and third were in that case.  Lol.  I guess I’m better off in some respects being naive.  Anyway, anyone who sees this, and feels like noting, what do you think “the bases” are?

“I’m not asking ya who’s on second!”

“Who’s on first!”

“I don’t know!”

“Third base!!”

–Notes–
