Psychology 105

That’s the class I’m in!

Due to this whole thing with work, I’m still not completely sure if I have any kind of job, (though I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to be a driver again.)  But because of this whole work flux thing, I decided, on Wednesday, to go down to Brookdale to see if there was anyway I’d be able to get into any classes.  I figured one or two this semester, like what I was planning on a few months earlier.  I got an appointment with Cathy Goode, (someone I remember Melanie having horrible luck with,) at three-thirty Thursday afternoon.  I figured, ‘okay, just deal with seeing if she can set up a class or two, she won’t be your permanent counselor.’

As it turned out, though, I was lucky.  I saw someone else because she wasn’t there yesterday.    So, we looked at the classes I’ve taken already, I said I wanted to major in education, and she recommended a psych class to me, but that turned out to be full.  So I asked about Psych 105.  It had a spot left, so I went to the psych department, had to waitr a little while, but managed to talk to the teacher and got the syllabus and everything, and I even got a book for free!  I guess the secretary woman I’d talked to down there first was holding it for a student who’d never come to get it, so she gave it to me.

It seems like a lot of work, and I have a lot to catch up on, (even through only missing two classes,) but still.  It seems like this’ll be a lot of fun.  And I want a teaching degree, damnit!  I want to be an English teacher.  Heck, I even have a plan for the beginning of the year.  The first two or three days, (it depends on how long the movie is,) I’m going to show them The Emperor’s Club, with Kevin Kline.  It’s a great movie where he plays a teacher.  I watched it again the night before last.

I don’t know, I’m finally excited about college, I guess.  I have a definite direction I want to go in.  I get my employment (or lackthereof) situation taken care of, I’ll be set.

Wish me luck!
