My Thunderstorm For You
My Thunderstorm For You
Timid rain
will trickle down, starting just a drop.
Then it came,
a clap of thunder, like an axe’s chop.
*~*
Thunder crashing,
against the great wall of sky.
Rain bashing
against pavement, water running by.
*~*
Torrents of rain,
splashing through clouds,
breaking on panes
of windows, or umbrellas in crowds.
*~*
Children all laughing
out playing in galooshes and boots.
All of them having
so much fun, it’s a hoot.
*~*
No one should hide
when the sky sheds its tears.
Everyone should abide
the cleansing shower is here.
*~*
This is my
Thunderstorm for you.
You’re the guy
with whom I’ll make it, true-blue.
*~*
Your hair is the sunlight;
Your eyes are the earth;
Your face makes my day bright;
Your laugh is your mirth.
It doesn’t matter where we are, or what we do. We’re best friends forever, you and I. We have something solid, built on support and love and truth, and we’re not gonna lose it so easily.
You’ve seen the sun, and are standing in a beautiful sun shower. I’m so proud of you. Words can’t even express it.
I’ll enjoy the rain, too,
as long as I’m standing with you.
