Last Night’s Events

My Mood:   — Thoughtful And Serene

Okay, so, about the good stuff that’s happened recently, on Friday Melanie called my cell while I was out delivering pizza.  (I was freakin’ there till eleven!!!  The damned people just wouldn’t stop calling!!)  Anyway, she asked what I was doing Saturday, which was yesterday.  She said we should hang out and every time we tried to make plans, something got in the way.  I said I was working at the park from noon till closing, which should be around nine, but that I could call her afterwards if she wanted to hang out then.  So we agreed on that, (after my cell lost it’s signal on me and I called her back,) and got off the phone since I was still driving.

Saturday I got to work at noon after going to the bank and depositing most of my Domino’s paycheck.  I was in the Game Room until about four, then Tim told me to take my break and call him on the walkie-talkie when I was done.  I did and he tells me to go to the top of the Super Slide.  I figured, okay, that’s cool.  I get a great view and get to be up there until closing.

I got to the Super Slide and went up the stairs.  I was fine until I actually got to the little fenced in platform at the top.  And then I realized exactly how bad with heights I’ve gotten.  But I told myself I could deal, this was my job.  So I told the guy who was up thre that Tim told me I was taking over for him and that he shouldcall on the walkie talkie to see where to go.  He left, I was up there alone, and don;t get me wrong, the view from up there is absolutely gorgeous!  I could see out to the water and it was breathtaking.  I’d love to get a picture of it one day.  But looking straight down, which I couldn’t seem to help doing every so often, would make me start to freak out.  And I couldn’t let go of the . . . anything up there.  I had to keep one hand on something at all times.  I was up there about fifteen minutes when I knew, this wasn’t going to work.  I had to get down, I had to go somewhere else.

I went down to the ticket booth and walkie talkied Tim, telling him that I was really bad with heights and was there somewhere else I could go.  Here’s where the misunderstanding came in.  I thought he told me to tell another guy to go up there and for me to take over the kiddie ride he was at.  Turns out I was wrong.  It got straightened out fairly quickly, though, and I was sent to the other side of the park to run this kiddie ride ferris wheel.

By the end of the night, I was freezing.  I went to my car when I got off, turned the heat on all the way up, and figured hey, since I was in Keansburg anyway, I might as well just go to Melanie’s house.  So I did.  We took my car and were just driving around talking for a while.  Then we wound up in Matawan and went to the Court Jester to eat.  I got those nachos again.  They are so good!

While we were talking, we mentioned different DVD’s and Box sets and stuff like that, so when I found out it was only ten, I decided we had to go on a mission to Barnes and Noble so I could get the Boy Meets World Season Two Box Set.  (Since she’d gotten season one that morning.)  So we paid and got out of there.  I drove to the bank so I could get a bit more money, and we did make it to Barnes and Noble before they closed.  I actually got both Boy Meets World, Season 2, and Buffy, Season 1.  I want to collect all seven seasons of Buffy.  I love that show.  And they have Dick Van Dyke episodes, too.  That is like, the greatest show!  Yeah, I’m gonna be spending a lot of money there.  Hence why, as soon as my credit card is paid for this time, I’m gonna get that B&N members card.  It’s definitely worth my while at this point, considering all the manga and DVD’s I wanna get.

Anyway, we met up with her friend Dave at the bookstore and then the three of us drove to Redbank so I could show Melanie where Pyramid Books is.  But I think the place is moving or closing or something!  I’m so upset. I need to go down there and check out if that’s true.  Then on our way back, I missed the turn I was supposed to take and we wound up down near Brookdale.  Once I realized that, I knew the way home, though.  So we dropped Dave off and then I almost passed Melanie’s house dropping her off.  Lol.

All in all, it was a good night.

Oh, yeah, Mike called at one point while we were lost.  He was worried.  Turns out he thought I was supposed to be out at five, so when I hadn’t come home for six hours, it made him wonder.

Oh, yeah again!  I almost forgot.  When we first left Melanie’s house, she shoved a book at me and told me I had to read it, it was by the same author as Speak, a book she loaned me before.  So today, when I wasn’t doing anything at work, I was reading it.  It’s called Catalyst and it’s really good.  I was a little let down by the ending, but otherwise I liked it.

I should loan her that one book, I think it’s called Aimee.  It should b in my room.  I think I’ll ferret it out and loan it to her.  It’s written in the same manner as something like Speak or Catalyst.  Heck, it might be the same author, though I doubt it, considering the size and cover art.

I can’t wait till we both have a free day to hang out, though.  One thing she told me about was a five floor Barnes and Noble in Paramus.  We have to go there at some point.  I want to see this place.  I want to see the manga section, I want to see the DVD’s, the CD’s, the teen fiction, the music section . . .  ::Drools::
