I Should Have Just Stayed In Bed . . .

You ever have one of those days where things just went wrong, and you knew that you should just stay home, and not do anything, because things can only get worse? I had one of those days yesterday. And believe me, whatever anyone can compare to this, I have the feeling this was worse.

See, when I woke up, I had a stomachache. I didn’t think anything of it, until when I was about to take my shower, I couldn’t bend over because it hurt my tummy that much. It passed, and I was okay, though. So, I take my shower, and I go to work, and get my bagel and drink beforehand. And it was Jess who I worked with which was nice. And while my stomach hadn’t quit hurting, it had decreased, which was lucky, because our District Manager showed up. ::Sarcasm:: Oh, joy . . . So, she’s there, and she’s nitpicking on a bunch of things about me, and luckily, my stomach decided not to act up while she was there. Well, thank God, she didn’t stay as long as she normally does, and even Jess was saying that she was picking on me while she was here. Well, even though my stomach decided to rebel at different points throughout the rest of my work day, which was 9:30-1:30, things weren’t so bad. So I drove home, and had to swerve around the garbage can at the end of the driveway, because when they picked it up, they left it slightly in the way of where you drive in and out. I pulled in, and thought to myself that I should really bring that up to the patio. But I didn’t. Mike was already ready to go, and I sat down for a bit, resting my tummy which still felt weird. Then, we gathered up the stuff we wanted to bring, which included my laptop, and some of the papers for my novel, since I’m thoroughly revamping the third one. At least, I’m adding a whole lot on to the beginning. So, we packed everything into the car, and started it, pulled down the driveway, and BAM! I had hit the garbage can. Mike got out to check on the can, and the car. Well, he told me to come look at what had happened, and when I did, I saw hal my bumper lying on the street! Long story short, we got my parents car, and drove up there anyway.

So, we’re up there, and we start watching Fellowship, and are eating homemade pizza, courtesy of Mike’s dad, and Mike had made and brought me an iced tea in one of the plastic cups that they have up there. Well, the glass had about an inch left in it, my laptop was open because I was typing some more onto Novel Three, and as I brought the glass over . . .

It dropped out of my hands, and landed on my LAPTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How much does that absolutely suck??????? We took it apart, and cleaned out/dried off as many parts as we could, but I don’t know. It won’t start and no power is going though to the laptop. I still have my novels on my disks, so I can still get to them, thank God. But there are IM’s on that laptop that I can’t replace. Ones with Jason, that first one with him, letters, E-mails, everything! I can redownload songs, and sound clips, and whatnot, but . . . ::Sigh:: We’re taking the thing to Shannon’s dad hopefully tomorrow, to see what he can do abou either fixing it, or retrieving the information. I can hope that something can be done. I can’t lose everything that’s on My Documents. I just can’t . . .

Today was all right, though. I picked Mike up from work, and he showed me these laptops at Staples. He offered to cash in his savings bonds and buy me one of them. And that’s what we did. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m going to replace those bonds. Or rather, I’m doing one better. I’m buying him three five hundred dollar bonds. That’s about four hundred more than what we spent today. Not to mention that my car’s bumper was okay, cuz we were able to get it back held up, and Mike and I went to the Woodbridge Mall. I got him one of those bears from the Build-A-Bear things, and put a little Happy Birthday hat on it, holding a little Happy Birthday balloon. I got one, too, with a little sunflower hat.

All in all, today has been a good day, but yesterday sucked . . .

I just hope that information can be saved . . .
