I GOT ANOTHER REPLY!!!

Today I decided to look through the Writer’s Market Guide for a prospective publisher for my novel about the eleven year old.  Haven’t heard about that one?  Well, I don’t think I outlined it on here.  I described it a bit, but no real detail.  Anyway, it’s a darker novel idea of mine and I wanted to look into getting it published as soon as possible.  I hope I can.

So I looked through the book and found a publisher that looked pretty good.  I checked out the website and decided okay, let’s see what I can do with an E-query.  I sent it this afternoon.  And what do I see tonight?  A reply!

I’m not sure what to make of this one.  I’m sure it’s legit because the company was in the Writer’s Market Guide book, but it’s a small company, where the authors do a good deal of personal work to help sell their book.  And I’m not quite sire what that means.  I sent an E-mail back to him, asking about it and explaining that I’m fairly new to this publishing world.

I hope for a positive response.  He did say that he’d be interested in reading what I wrote, so that’s an upside.  The only thing is, if this one doesn’t take off, I’m not sure where else to submit to.  I don’t know how to categorize this book.  It’s not mystery because you know what’s going on and who’s doing it from the very first page.  It might be suspense, but I don’t know.  I know what it isn’t.  It’s not kids, it’s not humor, it’s not erotic . . .  But what is it?

Eurgh . . .  I don’t know.  I figure if this publisher doesn’t work out, I’ll find another, submit a query, and go from there.  It’s all I can do before I hit my big break.  I will be published, somehow.

I’ve been cleaning my room the past two days.  I still have a long way to go.  Once again, I have to move my LOTR figures, clean them off, clean the shelves they’re on, and put them back.  It’d be a lot easier if some of them weren’t so hard to position so that they stay standing.  Oh, well.  I’ll deal.  Then there’s the bird cages.  That’s gonna be annoying.  Bleh . . .

I got a new manga today called Red River.  A girl named Yuki gets pulled by magic through time to ancient Egypt.  It’s really good.  And luckily, I think there’s only five or so volumes to it.  I must research this . . .

Okay, I’ve got nothing else really to write about so I’m gonna go.

I don’t have any advice to offer, unfortunately, but I wanted to say good luck!

Good luck with the story you submited to this pulisher. I hope it works out for you.

I wrote an entry in my diary on state sales tax and I was wondering how much it is where you live.

Did you get my last email? Thanks for your answer to the tax entry I posted. You are lucky that you don’t have a lot of taxes when you buy things. I wish where I live it was like that.
