Feeling Better (Had To Add Something)
From what I’ve read, though I know no details, Jess is getting help. I’m glad. Even if it’s not out here so that we can meet, I’m very, very glad. I told her flat out that I would help her and that I wanted to see her recover and now it looks like she’ll be able to, without my help. 🙂
But, Jess? You still gotta come out here once you consider yourself fully recovered. Because I’m still gonna make you those celebratory nachos!
Okay, what else? Not much else happened today. I wanted to go down to the Canary Bird Farm but as it turns out, they’re closed on Thursdays. So, yeah, that sucks. So I decided to go over to the Dress Barn, this place down on 34. I went into a couple of places near it, then went there. As I was going in, I saw the sign on the door that said “Now hiring.” That interested me. I mean, the dollar store’s great, but I’d rather have the possibility of getting benefits, and a higher pay and stuff like that. So, I picked out some clothes and tried them on, went up to the counter to find out how much this one black tank top is, and when I found out it’s on sale for $14.99 I asked if they could hold it till tomorrow. So, I’ll go back after work, get it, and then race to the Woodbridge Mall to meet Roel. Which reminds me . . .
Okay, just E-mailed him. Anyway, I did decide something. I’m going to get my room cleaned up, and when Mike and I buy another cage for the ferret, I’m going to take apart the cage top of this one. (When my parents made it, they used the top of my old bird cage, but the bottom is still up in the attic.) I’m going to buy another cockatiel. I decided that the positives outweigh the negatives. Pidgey is a good bird, but he’s a truly ornamental pet. He’s quite content to sit in his cage, or on the door, and just . . . not do anything. What I’m hoping’ll happen with he new bird is that that one and Pidgey’ll get along, and Pidgey’ll see that the other bird likes coming out and being with me, and that he’ll follow that example. Plus, if Pidgey and the other bird become friends, Pidgey’ll want to be around the other bird, and if the other bird is with me . . .
And I can hope that Pidgey’s quietness will rub off on the other bird. Though I’m not nuts enough to believe that that’ll actually happen. I can hope, though.
So, yeah, that’ll probably happen within the next . . . two or three months? I’m gonna go back down to the Bird Farm and find out how old a cockatiel has to be before they give it to an owner, then pick one out that’s nice and young, not ready to leave there yet. That way, when I bring it home, I’ll be able to train it my way. Pidgey, I think, got used to how they handled him, or didn’t handle him, or whatever. But one that’s only three or four months old will be primarily hand-raised by me. Hand-fed by them, yeah. But hand-raised by me.
The only thing I don’t know is what I should name it. Any ideas? Smething cute, something creative, something odd, whatever. If you have any ideas, let me know in a note.
Bye. J J J
Yeah, what I forgot to add in here earlier. I asked at the front counter about an application, got one, filled it out, and asked about dress code and stuff like that before I left. Oh, and when I handed the application in, the one woman saw it and said something about liking how thorough I’d been with it. And that wasn’t even from reading it, that was just seeing how much I wrote on it. So hopefully I’ll hear something from them. I like the dollar store, but if I can make and therefore save more money here, and possibly et benefits, then I’ll do it. And I always have the dollar store to fall back on if I get hired and then fired from this place.
I don’t know why, but I’m kind of excited. I hope I actually do get hired. Maybe I wouldn’t have to quit the dollar store altogether, if I was part time at each place, but I know I’d have to have the same hours each week at each place. The dollar store, that’s fine,, but the Dress Barn, I’m not sure. I’ll see how it goes. If I could hold down two jobs, that’d be good. Heck, what I could do then is say that I need the same day of from each job, give myself some down time, and just relax. Then, I could work mornings at the dollar store, and evenings at the Dress Barn. That’d be really good. It wouldn’t lose me hours at the dollar store, it’d keep my job there, and it’d get me extra money, because I’d also work somewhere else.
I think I want to do this now. I’m going back to the Dress Barn tomorrow to pick up that tank top, so what I’ll do is tell them that if it’s possible, I’d like to work part-time, there. (They talked about possible relocation to another store in Wall, if I wanted full-time.) That way, I can do both jobs and still keep time to myself to work on my novels.
No, I haven;t heard anything from the pblishing company. Not yet. I honestly don’t expect to until April. It seems so long, but it’s really not. And I’m glad for the time, because I still need to edit so much. Oh, anyone who is good at grammar and whatnot, if you’d like to help me edit, please let me know, and note this entry. I’ll add you onto my favorites list for the diary where I have the story posted.
Bye, (for real this time!)

Dude! Pidgey is a great name. I’ve always wanted to give a pet a Pokemon name but never had. Anyway, there are lots of good bird names to choose from. How about Spearow? Or Moltres, Articuno, or Zapdos.
