Entry 828 – “We’re Almost Out With The Duckies!”

Lol.  I picked Rob up a little after two today.  Since he didn’t work until four and it was so gorgeous out, I wanted to stop somewhere and be outside for a bit.  So I drove us to Union Beach where we ended up flying the kite that’s in my backseat.  Then we actually wound up wading out in the water, though ti took some time to convince him to come with me.  I wet all the way out these rocks that Denny and I had walked to a few years ago when a group of us were there.  Rob stayed about halfway between the rocks and the shore.

I dropped him off at work and on the way back, I saw Mike rollerblading up the street.  He said he was gonna meet Shannon and the two of them were going skating, so I offered him a ride.  Of course, despite my skates being in the backseat, he didn’t ask if I wanted to join them.  But as I was driving away, I realized it didn’t matter to me.  I don’t think I would’ve said yes anyway.  Because honestly, at this point, they really aren’t my friends.  Shannon, Denny, Bryan, Colleen, any of them.  They’re not really my friends anymore.  They’re his.  And all I’d be doing is feeling like an outsider on something I shouldn’t have tried to join in on in the first place.

::Sighs::  Oh, well.  I do have some people.  Just . . . once again, I wish I had more.  Like I used to.

Oh, the entry title relates to what Rob said at Union Beach.  He sees these ducks and looks at me like, ‘I can;t believe you’re dragging me out this far!’ and says to me, "We’re almost out with the duckies!"  Which just made me laugh, cuz I couldn’t believe he’d said "duckies."  Lol.
