Ear Today, Gone Tomorrow

Yeah, I know, horrible title.  It fits, though, in an odd way.  I mentioned getting a third hole in my ears not too long ago.  Well, the earings I got have been causing me problems since that first day.  I expected them to be tender the first night, but they haven’t stopped hurting/throbbing since I had it done.  That’s never happened before.  So today, after I took a shower, I decided to try something a little risky.  I took out the earrings that pierced my ears this time and put in, (after sanitizing them up the wazoo,) the earrings I got the second time I got my ears pierced.  Except I only got the right one in.  It’s feeling better, though I’m gonna keep an eye on it, but the left . . .

I couldn’t fit the second earring all the way through it and it kept bleeding lightly.  I kept dabbing the sanitizing solution on it and holding toilet paper with cold water on it against my ear, hoping it would bring the swelling down.  But it hasn’t.  My ear still has a bump of swelling around where it was pierced.  I’m hoping it’s not infected.  It shouldn’t be, but I’m being really careful until the hole closes up.  So I’ll go with just having five holes.  That is, if everything works out with the one in my right ear.

Just a weather record: It apparently reached one hundred and two degrees here in Wichita.

I packed up clothes and stuff for when we come back.  There’s actually so much to pack up . . .  But I’ll do more tomorrow and probably climb dishes and such to put them away.

I’m actually writing another entry offline to post later, but it’s called Medication Nation.  It should be an interesting read when I’m done.
