Ah, The Annoyances Of Adulthood
My Mood: — Murderous And — Wanting To Pound Something and — Oh, Yeah. And In Pain
Okay, so I’ve more than likely sprained my ankle. Mike took a look at it for me and I guess it’s swollen and stuff. So he wrapped it in an ace bandage for me and that’s how it’s stayed since then. And that sucks, because not only did I have to walk home from dropping my car off, but I had to walk to the bank to cash my paycheck, (luckily it’s from the same bank that I have an account with,) and then I had to walk back to the car place. And I was never called about my car being ready!! We called at about five-thirty and asked, found out it was ready, and were told they close in half an hour!
Anyway, we cut through the cemetery, cuz doing that, it’s about a ten minute walk. And I had more than enough cash on me, I figured, cuz I would put two hundred dollars on my credit card. But when we got there, I gave him the card and said to put it through for two hundred and it was declined. So I’m thinking, ‘oh, great.’ I asked him to put it through for one fifty and he did. Declined again. So I asked if Mike had his cell phone but he didn’t. I was able to use the store’s phone, though, and called the automated thing for my card. For some reason, there was sity dollars taken out of my card and only one forty available. I had a bit more cash on me, though, so we put the card through for one forty and I paid the reminder in cash.
Mike and I got in the car and went home to find out online what the ehck was going on with my card and what that sixty dollar thing was.
Well, we found out. The gym that I joined apparently took it upon themselves to make sure I paid the monthly dues of sixty dollars. Now, normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but A) I was not informed this transaction would be happening, and B) that transaction shouldn’t have happened, because the day before it was done, I’d gone down to the gym and paid the dues in cash.
So, Mike and I talked to the gym, got the number of this place affiliated with the gym that handles all financial questions/problems/etc., but had to leave a message. And the credit card company itself can’t do anything until we hear something from that branch related to the gym.
One girl at the gym said that she had had this same kind of problem and had heard back in about a day, though. So if we haven’t heard anything by tomorrow night, when I get off work, and I still have time to go down there before they close, I’m going to. And either I’m getting a sixty dollar refund, a guarantee that they will somehow make sure that sixty dollars is replaced on my credit card with no extra charge to me, or I want a receipt that says that my dues for April and May have been paid off. Not to mention that I will see what kind of legal action I can take if this ever happens again, because I di NOT authorize anyone there to take money off of my credit car, especially not without my knowledge.
So, yeah, that really pisses me off, and MY ANKLE STILL HURTS!!!! It’s taken to doing a gentle throbbing right now. Work tomorrow is gonna be “fun . . .”
Okay, I’m gonna stop ranting. I suppose in many ways, I should count myself lucky. These are just physical injuries/ailments, guaranteed to only last about a week, at most. Physical pain sucks, but I can deal with it. Emotional pain is what’s worse for me.
So, I’m not totally unhappy.
