536 – Stolen Idea. (I Wish I’d Thought Of This!)
Characters In My Life
(There’s no particular order in this. It’s just who I think of first.)
Dolly – (the Old Best Friend) (Four-Way-Locket Person)
Dolly and I know one another because our moms were friends.
Though we lived in different states, we remained best friends,
or what we thought was best friends,
from her birth till the start of my senior year.
There were two years there where we were hanging in the balance.
Still talking, but I think we both knew things had changed.
Then there were another two years where we didn’t speak,
and we regained communication almost a year ago.
Jason – (the Invisible Best Friend) (Four-Way-Locket Person)
Heh . . . We met the second half of my sophomore year,
(his freshman,)
because of a mutual friend named Chuck.
I don’t know, Jason and I just somehow clicked.
He and Dolly were together that summer,
and I thought we were a pretty tight trio.
But the beginning of my junior year,
his mom showed her true colors,
though everyone else seems to be color blind,
and suddenly,
Jason and Dolly were broken up,
and I no longer had him as a best friend.
(We have talked at random, sometimes long-term, points since then.
But recently I’ve realized that while I have to hide,
I can’t continue seeing him.
While I’ll always care about him,
and see him as a friend,
I have the feeling that on the 12th,
I’ll find out that I’m not gonna see him for an extended length of time.)
Ryan – (the Odd Question Friend) (Four-Way-Locket Person)
Ryan and I met the summer before my sophomore year.
I had a crush on him immediately, and actually told him that, too.
Though he just wanted to remain friends.
At this point, he’s become one of my best friends,
though we rarely see one another because he’s so busy with school.
But we talk on IM, and I love teasing him,
mock arguing with him, and all in all enjoying being friends with him.
J
Shannon – (the Lunch Table Friend)
Shannon and I met the beginning of my sophomore year.
A friend of hers, who I’d met at the Holy Family Carnival
recognized me and asked if I wanted to sit with the two of them.
So I did, and Shannon and I actually became
better friends than me and the other girl.
She’s fun to hang out with and play Encore with.
Lol. Lots and lots of Encore . . .
Pat – (the Pokemon Friend)
Pat and I met a couple times throughout my second year of high school,
and then shared a lunch table with Denny my junior year.
He was the one who got me into Pokemon,
and it’s because of both he and Denny, and Dolly,
I suppose, that the Jigglypuff story exists.
He’s a pretty cool guy, and I’ve (almost) always
enjoyed hanging out with him.
Melanie – (the Art Class/Advice/Honesty-Pusher Friend)
Well, I believe she covered it in hers, but I’ll reiterate.
We met in art class my senior year, and became friends,
sharing odd stories every day
about the different nutcases we knew/know.
Most of mine were about Mike and Dolly
and the adventures we’d had the previous summer.
Hence how the entire God story came up concerning Mike.
After I graduated, we hadn’t contacted each other for awhile,
and then shortly before I turned 18,
I called her and asked if she wanted to hang out.
We started hanging out after that,
and throughout the next year the
“Hazlet friends” and “Matawan friends”
got to know each other.
Then, she and I had a falling out, and didn’t talk for a long time.
But since, we have made up, and now,
though we only really talk on IM,
we’ve had a much better friendship in my opinion.
We have had other conflicts, but none so bad,
and we’ve both remained fairly calm.
I don’t think either of us wants to repeat what we went through before.
Jill – (the Accidental Friend)
I met Jill because of Mike during my senior year.
She liked him, and had written him
a note, actually mailed it, and wanted his response.
Well, Mike had no idea how to answer her on it,
so after thinking about it for about three days,
he showed it to me and asked what I could make of it.
Well, I thought that she sounded a lot like me,
and was interested in seeing if I could talk to her myself,
perhaps help explain that Mike only saw her as a friend,
because that’s what he’d been saying to me.
So in Feb. we started E-mailing back and forth,
talking about writing and other things.
Then, there was a period where we didn’t talk for awhile,
(after Mike and I got together,)
but we rekindled our friendship after a few months,
and have remained friends through
E-mails, IM’s, and these diaries.
Denny – (the Jigglypuff Story Friend)
Ah, yes, who can forget the Jigglypuff story?
No one as long as I’m around!!! Mwa ha ha!!!
Anyway, though, I met Denny my junior year,
because he also sat at the same lunch table.
He and I were also at the same lunch table my senior year,
along with Bryan, Freshman Mike, and Carmin.
Denny’s pretty cool.
He has a lot more depth than I originally thought.
Mike – (the I-Can’t-Even-Describe-Him Friend)
Well, as everyone already knows,
Mike and I were together from the end of Feb.
my senior year till the end of March in 2003.
I’m literally the closest person to him,
and he was the closest person to me.
I’m not sure if he still is because
I’ve become a lot more open in the past three years or so.
We’ve had our share of conflicts, (to say the least . . .)
but we’ve come through them.
For better or worse, sometimes I wonder, but still.
Mike Keller – (the “I-Am-A-God-At-Simpsons-Trivia Friend)
Heck, with how he talks sometimes,
just cut it off after the word “God.”
And yet I still say he isn’t arogant.
::smacks self in forehead::
Yeah, call me crazy.
Anyway, though, he actually is a pretty cool guy.
I’ve seen him on and off since the year after I graduated,
and this past summer, he’s been coming to Eli’s,
and then Game Factory when we started hanging out there.
He’s the type of person that I want to get close to,
simply to prove that not everyone is going to abandon him.
Freshman Mike, Bryan, Colleen, Raj, and Matt – (the Game Factory Friends)
These guys are all pretty cool.
Bryan and Freshman Mike were at my lunch table
my senior year, and because I would talk to Mike about them,
I started calling Freshman Mike by that name.
Colleen I met because Bryan brought her to Game Fcatory,
and once we started talking, we just didn’t sto
p.
She’s like a non-musical me. 🙂
Raj I haven’t seen that often, but he’s cool, and really thoughtful.
And Matt’s interesting.
Good Magic player, and Eli’s and Game Factory
wouldn’t have been the same without him.
Nora – (the Online/Another Writer Friend)
I met her on Open Diary
when I saw an entry of hers on the main page.
It was a novel idea, but when I clicked on the entry,
she’d privatized it,
because she worried about someone stealing the plot.
But we’ve kept in contact over IM, and through the diaries.
Andy – (the Canadian God-of-Simpsons-Trivia Friend)
Lol, I couldn’t resist!
Anyway, Andy and I met on OD.
I’m not sure if he found mine, or if I found his,
but we started noting,
then exchanged E-mail addresses,
and now talk on IM fairly regularly.
It’s amazing how in-depth our friendship
has gotten over just a few short months
when we’ve never seen one another face to face.
Though we hope to correct that this coming summer.
Hopefully, he’ll come and stay with us for a week.
Oh, boy, is he gonna be run ragged that week!!!
Thank you much 🙂 But could you pick a brighter, more happy color for me? *lol*

RYN: (Entry time, Kate.. write something for us, please!!) Kate, just the fact that you spent the time to read even that entry means something to me and telling me that you read it but you are stuck for an idea for leaving me a note, that means more to me that you took all that time and read it than anything else. Thanks. *smiles* I can’t wait till we talk online next either. Let me know when ..
