wondered away and then back again
It seems like twice recently I started an entry and didn’t finish it. Below is what I had meant to post the other day, or week or whenever it was.

wow, looks like I had a partly written entry from early november, discarded it as it was no longer terribly relevant. Yesterday, I found out that it is very unlikely that my girly will ever get to go on point because of her disabilities. I knew this but still it hurts and she also will never qualify to take a ballet exam. However, her teacher and the dance school director are thinking of instituting an in house set of exams and are going to use my girly as a guinea pig. It will help too that as she gets up to older grades in ballet there is a much wider age range of kids. But still I am sad, milestones taken away and watching other kids soar off into a more predictable future hurts me and hurts her.
She turns 13 in less than 2 weeks and is so far from being a teen in her developmental level. However, the powers that be forgot to leave off a side order of hormones and attitude when they threw in a serving of developmental delays and learning disabilities.
On a more cheerful note, I bought my son’s iphone from him and am using it as an ipod touch, he had bought a new blackberry and wasn’t using his iphone. Because he owed me money, I have the iphone and no money had to be change hands:) There are knitting apps by the way. There are also games my daughter can play on it when we are waiting somewhere or traveling one day (we are hoping and planning a trip, first to Boston and then out west one day).

To pick up from where I had left off, leaving a draft hanging in mid air, so to speak:
I did buy a little yarn recently, in fact it was captain kirk yarn spun by a local woman who also happens to be a friend:) I also ordered a ball of opal sock yarn online, cheaper than buying it from any of the local sources unfortunately. I need to get another small project started up that I can carry around.
I am making progress on the endless baby blanket, am on the decrease side of half way now so it will pick up speed when the rows finally get small enough to be truly manageable.
Quite honestly, I don’t know how you manage, or even survive, some days. We do need to get together in the not-too-distant future. One of these days. With big hugs…
