Pens are things of use and beauty
My dad loved pens, in particular his fountain pens and ink. I love to write and used to love fountain pens, not nearly as much as him but still more than most people. These days I love plastic pens, the names change almost daily it seems, from roller balls to liquid ink but really I love them because they are light when I hold them and they write almost as smoothly as fountain pens.
So, now that my dad is dead, his pens have spread out, all of my boys have at least one (mostly not fountain pens but still pens from their grandfather), and my brother now owns a ballpoint and pencil set too. Yet another set will be a lovely bar mitzvah present given by a friend of my mother.
But there are still a few pens left including a waterman edson ruby red fountain pen.

It isn’t brand new and I don’t have the box but it is rare and EXPENSIVE but I still feel like a pimp. I don’t want to keep this pen and I would rarely use it but but…. and the money from the pens will pay to have grab bars installed that my mother needs and can afford. The pens should be owned by somebody who loved them as much as my father did, who will use it but still it hurts. The pens are the hardest thing for me to let go of, I still have to pour out many bottles of ink too. Let’s not talk about all the leather filofax binders or the full sized leather binders.

I wish I knew people I could just give these things to.
Public service announcement: do own things of beauty and things that make you feel good but you don’t need to own many, many of each of those and don’t buy office supplies as if they were going to be unavailable, because one day somebody has to sort all that stuff and a lot of it will end up recycled or in the garbage rather than used:(
I wish I could afford one of his pens. I love fountain pens and mine are long since misplaced. Remember writing notes in Latin class with our fine point fountain pens? With fond memories…

Any steno notepads? I love them, too, and would happily take them off your hands.

Don’t pour out the ink! I’ll come pick it up. There are interesting artsy things to be done with ink.
