it’s october

Well it’s october now.  I had a birthday last week which was one of the few events to happen in september that I WAS expecting.  I was not expecting to temporarily house an extra teen, I was not expecting ds #3 to break up with his gf and to be temporarily homeless, each of these things of course caused major ripples in our boring life.  Those 2 things are eerily connected in my mind as ds #3 is still couch surfing as we enter october and the extra teen is still staying with us.  However, we adjusting to both of these things and I am sure that both of these young persons will find more permanent places to live in due course.

  I did not expect that dd would be taking a dance class in Dartmouth on saturday afternoons, in fact we had basically ruled that out earlier in the summer but lo and behold we did a complete turn around on that one and it seems to be a good decision. 

Nor did I expect that ds #4 would have such a difficult time selling his other car and would end up taking such a loss on it (it isn’t actually sold just yet either).

Given what september was like I hesitate to make any predictions about october!!!!  So far we have had unseasonably humid and warm weather.

The knitting project that is giving me the most pleasure/satisfaction just now is a tube hat for the extra teen, she saw one I that I had just finished and asked for a longer one:)  I am using some fleece artist yarn I have had around for ages, it is wonderful yarn and such easy knitting, just do 17" of garter stitch in the round:)

I really want to make myself a feather light neck warmer, maybe even a lace pattern, I am looking as some recycled cashmere yarn on etsy.  I am also getting ready to start the felted doll kit as well as the beaded necklace kit but I have been saying that for a couple of weeks, oh well, no hurry for either.

knitting fiction review #1:  seaside knitters series is not too bad, I am currently reading #3 and plan to read #4 and #5 which will be published later this year.

knitting fiction review #2:  black sheep knitters series is dreadful IMO, I won’t be reading #2.
