hectic summer

Why has this summer been so hectic?  Maybe it just feels that way but there seem to have been an endless series of things that need doing from paperwork to downsizing, in spite of lots of days spent at home I feel as if there has been very little down time.  I am off on a week long trip with dd in less than 3 weeks and then when we get back, the fall schedule will descend upon us all too soon.  Not that I don’t like our regular busy schedule, with really just one child to look after, the only ds who is left at home mostly takes care of himself, it is so less challenging than when all 5 kids were at home.  We will have lots of adjustment to make this fall as my daughter is adding a new dance class and her schedule has changed a lot, and ds is starting his post secondary diploma program.

I sold 4 lace addi circ needles, giving up on knitting socks via the magic loop technique. I also sold my knitting tarot deck.  So, I bought myself a set of 5" bamboo dpns on ebay to knit i cord with on my trip:)  I also bought myself this necklace kit to knit sometime this year:

The hat I am knitting is at least 3/4s done and there is not a lot of yarn left for my second opera necklace which I hope to get done soon even though I just love knitting i cord with that yarn (celestial merino from lucy neatby is some weird in between weight that nobody can duplicate).

RYN: Mad gallivanting teens. Mind you, we did our fair share of going out. I remember evenings of tracking Lynx, and days of going to Center Island and all that.

I went to the con’s site and wandered through, and lo and behold! I put my name in for a few different positions, so we’ll see what I end up with. With a smile…

RYN: I’ll have to try that brand. Plain oatmeal is my friend. With a smile…
