happy 2008

i realized just now that I haven’t written anything here yet this year.  I have been busy with this and that and this and that endlessly it seems.
January flew by and then in february my youngest son started highschool.  I know it’s old hat for most people by the time their kids get to highschool but my older 2 were homeschooled all the way through.  I am struggling to get used to 2 schedules, lunches everyday and more fees every time I turn around.  No more lazy slow mornings, gotta get them fed and out the door with a lunch to eat later as well.  Once they are gone, my daughter and I breathe a sigh of relief and settle down to a more relaxed morning each of us doing our own thing:)
Tomorrow is my oldest baby’s birthday, another year gone by.  His dad is going to be a chance to visit him next weekend on the way back from a week in Vancouver.
We all have colds just now and my dh is going to be gone for more than a week.  The good thing is that ballet classes are canceled for the week because of the music festival, they use a lot of the building and need quiet there.

Back to knitting:)  Here is a mini show and tell, a couple of fun things knitted by other people and a couple of not yet published books that I am looking forward to:

Upcoming, not yet published knitting related books that I am looking forward to reading and maybe even owning:

Things I learned from knitting by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee [aka the Yarn Harlot]

(note: when I went to get a link from amazon, I discovered that she has another book coming out this year as well as a really interesting page a day calendar for 2009) I couldn’t figure out how to create a link that wasn’t absurdly long so go ahead and search for her on amazon.com for all the details.

I have almost finished the illusion checkerboard dishcloth that I am knitting. I haven’t quite decided what to cast on next. I need something to help me get through the 9 days of single parenting:)

Nice to see you alive and well. Miss B has switched schools so now I have to fork out $80 for a bus pass so she can take the transit bus. She likes it better so far, though, so that’s good. With a smile…
