a little bit of everything

I wish menopause would be here soon.  have had a wretched long bout of pms this cycle.  Have wanted to kill everybody around me or myself in alternating delightful mood swings:(

Miss ds #1 desperately a lot, he is having his 25th bday this month and i haven’t seen him in almost a year.  We can’t seem to find a time to skype because of the 2 hours time difference between him and us and his very busy life.  He and my future DIL are getting married in april out in alberta and we can’t afford to go but they are coming east in the end of may and getting married again out here for the benefit of his family.  They both have grandparents who can’t really travel easily.  

I have absolutely had it with all the cold and snowy winter weather we have had in the last month.  I never care much for winter but right now I am so ready for spring.  We bought our firewood in late fall and it has been wet this year, lots of smoke and the woodstove needing lots of attention too.  Our furnace is on its last legs, hurray, of course I just have an extra $5K to $10K sitting around:(  apparently the hot water heater is also reaching an age considered geriatric by those in the know.  We might just limp along with the furnace or without it until the end of the winter.  Right now it is working but no idea when it might just up and quit for good.  We have been using our electric space heaters a lot, afraid to see the next electric bill.

DD is teething, yes that’s right.  She is 14 and getting her 12 yo molars and they are causing her a huge amount of pain, so much that I took her to the dentist because I didn’t know what was wrong.  Thankfully we have insurance and that visit only cost me $4 after insurance.

My winter boots quit (the soles wore right through and the uppers cracked) and i bought some on sale replacements that are ok but big and clunky:(  I keep buying socks but am having "issues" as my dd would say with seams that rub across the tops of my toes and also with too tight sock tops, I have an ankle that swells up ever since I broke it as a young teen.  The house is piled high with bags of stuff that needs sorting and giving away.  The cold weather makes me just want to curl up and hibernate until spring so I am not getting much done in any given day.

Even in my knitting, I am moving slowly, mostly making blanket squares to send off to this group

I am determined to knit some socks this year and just received some more circ needles that I bought on ebay.

But will have to save up for this as the yarn is EXPENSIVE and only available once a month but even so.

And just because, I skipped supper tonight and went right to desert, homemade chocolate pudding and coconut milk ice cream, delicious.
