Weekly Knit Night

We’re making it official: We’re starting up our Weekly Knit Night again in full force!

I’m hoping that having something to look forward to every Friday will help me a little bit in terms of my mental state. Not only do I get to knit for an entire evening uninterrupted, but I get to see my friends, too. While I can knit at home, and I do, there is always the constant stream of interruptions that come with it. Whether its Sam asking me to go help him do This out in the yard, or Carissa asking me to help her with Wedding Things, or its Time to Make Dinner, or Dave trying to get the whole house to play Munchkin — There is always something that makes me put the needles down. So I am really looking forward to just sitting around Tina’s house, chatting with my girls, and getting my yarn on.

Meg even made us a group on Facebook so we’ll be able to do the scheduling easier. We’re going to do a rota for our meeting place, so we don’t have any one person having to drive out super far every week. Next Friday is going to be Meg’s place, and the following at my place.

Tonight I’ll be working on my second Dwarven Battle Bonnet.

Here is a picture of my first:

Yes, that’s me wearing it.

The second one is going to have a reddish-orange beard. I also have an order for a third and fourth. So I’m going to be super busy over the next couple of weeks. But I think I’m going to enjoy it. One hat only takes a couple of days of work to get the whole thing completed. The only thing that gets in the way of progress is my lack of air conditioning. Hot weather + Sweaty hands = No knitting. (Which is incredibly unfortunate.)

I think I’m going to get a little knitting done now while it is still relatively cool out.
