Feeling Better, Doing Better

Since I last wrote, my mood has greatly improved. I talked to all of the right people about all of the right things, and I just got everything off my chest and out there. And surprisingly, it didn’t go horribly awry like I expected it to. Which is half of the reason why I never talk to anybody about things that are genuinely bothering me. I always expect the worst possible outcome.

Sam has been incredibly understanding through this whole thing for me. And incredibly supportive. I’m pretty sure that half of the time, I take for granted how well he really knows me. He knows me better than I even know myself. Which is something that I’m fairly certain should scare me, but it doesn’t. It is a huge comfort.

And with his help, and Carissa’s help and complete understanding, my anxiety over the whole situation has dissipated. I’m sleeping (finally) and sleeping well. I wouldn’t say everything is 100%. But it is a vast improvement.

Other big news:

Carissa got engaged!!  She’s getting married in September. And she’s looking to me for most of the MOH duties. I feel really honored that she’s asked that of me. I’ll be working with her mom and getting everything planned out. Carissa has an extremely low budget, and we’re determined to make it work. I’m also making her wedding cake. She wants a three tier cake with a different flavor on each layer. Traditional white, a lemon filled, and a red velvet cake. Her sister has wedding cake pans. I am very grateful for that, because cake pans can be expensive. Glad she’s letting me borrow them! I have my work cut out for me, it seems though! So I’m looking forward to it.

The wedding is also 80’s themed. I don’t even know where to begin to look for bridesmaid dress ideas. She says she doesn’t care what we wear, as long as its 80’s. I’m thinking about going own to Joann Fabric and looking at patterns. Something with puffed sleeves.

In other other news:

Winter has finally arrived in CT. It snowed in the night. 3 inches or so where I am. I was wondering when winter was going to be joining the party. 🙂
