The Kiss of Life 7.30am

So, I promised a story right ?

Ah, yeah, that’s right. That would be the one I’ve been working on day and night, thinking out what I could write, what might entice you to stay and while and read.

I finally found the story line in the most obvious place. Life. It is all around us.

My diary is called “Kiss of Life” and this will be the title of the tale I intend to tell. I’m blogging for the British Heart Foundation, so you can expect my tale to be linked to issues of the heart.

But remember? I’m not ready!!!!

Sorry folks.

I did a bit of research before I started. Most books should have approximately 20 chapters they say. Ahha I thought, 24 hours, 48 entries. That’s just 28 chapters too many.

Fine. Most books should have between 70 000 – 95 000 words they say. Guffaw, cough, splutter. How many? Yes that’s right: 70 000 – 95 000 words, unless it’s a Mills and Boon and then you could get away with 50 000.

Ah, right then. Well, I doubt I’ll be writing that amount on a lovely Sunday in the space of 24 hours. (My mind wanders: do you think the ends of my fingers will get sore typing at this pace? Or do you think my fingers my seize up entirely? Or will my butt just get so sore I have to type standing up?)

I digress. 75 000 words. Nope, not me on a Sunday. So I decided I’d do my best but with only around 17 chapters on the “Kiss of Life”. Couldn’t manage more. And I’m going to give myself and hour to attempt to write each one. That means that in the middle hours you’ll get a cheap and cheerful entry on something else completely. I’ll label my entries that tell the story “KoL” at the beginning and then give a chapter title.

You’re going to have to be patient though because did I ever mention, I’m just not ready right now? Sleep is wearing off and the brain is kicking in, but I still need to get to know those cheeky characters better before I can tell their tale.

Be right back …

Its your story and can have as many or as few chapters as you want. Besides, who is to say what length constitutes a good story
