Writing With Nature

I have the sound of lawnmowers either side of me as I write this.  Something weird is going on at home with the internet.  No matter what I do I can’t get it to work!  I’m pretty sure Josh has something to do with it.  I mean, he moved in, and started using the internet without even needing to ask me for the security key to pass the secure network.  I found out, during my attempt to fix the problem with the net not connecting, that we are now, apparently, running on an open connection.  I certainly didn’t touch it.  So that explains it.  I’m near positive that he has hacked into or over-ridden my security code somehow.  He does work with computers all day so he probably knows a thing or two about  them.  And get this – neither Jeff nor I could access the net, yet there he was happily looking up car websites with his boyfriend, ooing and ahhing over which new car he wants to get.  Not that there’s anything wrong with the already awesome lancer he has.  I think Andrew was right about the whole Libran’s-always-needing-nice-things comment, when we were judging whether or not we wanted Josh to move into the house.
So I don’t think so Tim!!  I am not forking out MY hard earned money so that he can somehow use the net and we can’t.  I don’t know what settings he changed or what, but I unplugged everything yesterday and I’m gunna be cancelling my internet today.  I haven’t decided if I wanna leave the home phone on or not.  It would make sense, because then I could still connect up an ADSL connection, but my whole point of having cable was so that I didn’t need a phone.  Either way, cancelling the cable will save me a shitload of money.  I told Jeff that he and Josh can fight it over for whatever connection they wanna get, but I’m sick of this stuffing up every so often (although not often, I will give it that).  It’s just that when it happens, it’s a bitch to fix, and this time I have tried and re-tried everything I’ve done in the past, to no avail.  So that’s it.  Goodbye internet.

Right now I am taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi at the State Library Of Queensland 😀  It’s awesome!  I read about it in the paper a few months ago, that international students sit here up to around 10pm at night sometimes, just chatting to their friends back home.  I mean, why not?  It’s free internet, and you don’t even need to buy a coffee to try it out.  So I brougght my laptop to work with me last night, as well as my gym bag, and even though carrying two bags on a crowded bus was hell, I worked, then went to gym and got off the bus at Southbank to go and try this out.  Sure enough "SLQ’ unsecured network popped up.  I remember reading in the paper that the library was even thinking about installing powerpoints on the outside of the building, so that’s people’s battery’s wouldn’t run out.  I’ve got about half an hour left on mine, but I figured all I wanted to do was write an entry and and get stuff off my mind.  I always feel better when I do.  The other option is the cancel the home phone as well so that Josh and Jeff can sign up for one under THEIR name and I don’t have to worry about it anymore.  I always hated paying the line rental on my landline because I never use it anyway, having cable.  But it apparently made my net cheaper.  Yeah well I’ve decided that the net is still a rip off even with it on, so it’s going.  I got rid of my Goodlife gym membership, and today I’m getting rid of two more bills.  My only major bills should be my living bills, such as rent and gas and electricity and food and public transport.  The GO cards are so shit.  You used to be able to travel free on weekend.  i had to lauhg reading in the paper at work about how there was a loophole and people who travelled more than 7 zones just weren’t signing off, so they’d get the $3 fine rather than the $10+ fare.  No SHIT, I knew about that the day it started.  I’ve been scoring $3 trips to the Gold Coast for the last few months.  Sucks they are picking up on it now.  I had to laugh at how slow they were though.  All good things must come to an end.  This free Wi-Fi at the library is pretty sweet though!  I’m looking down onto the river and can see the city to my right.  It’s raining right now, like it was all day yesterday.  It was like a monsoon at work.  Such heavy heavy rain.  And I drove my car to work last night.  I’m amazed it wasn’t washed away haha.

Anyway my battery’s running out and I don’t wanna spend too long on here.  I gotta eat and sleep before I’m back to work again tonight and tomorrow.  Then 3 more days off, the same as I had last week. 🙂

Boring entry, but at least I’m writing it in nature, rather than confined to the walls of my bedroom.  Oh and here’s proof I’m outside 😀

Cute photo! Could you ask Josh what he did and why you & Jeff can’t get on? I wouldn’t want an open connection either, then every mofo could use it and steal all your downloads! Or you could look into getting one of those mobile plug in modem things? Then you could use it anywhere. 🙂 xx

Awwww gorgeous pic!!!! Bloody hell, stealing your internet isn’t on!!! I hate open connections, but then again I’m guilty of stealing other’s internet whilst their connections are open…. oops! Thats really nice for QLD State Library to give free internet!!! Gotta love taking advantage of something free! YAY!

Such a handsome young man! xxx
